‘The Bachelorette’: Did Katie Thurston Pick Blake Moynes or Justin Glaze? The Finale Revealed All
On Aug. 9, The Bachelorette fans watched the end of Katie Thurston’s love story. Greg Grippo’s exit in the previous episode shook the whole season, and many viewers weren’t sure what to expect next. Katie Thurston didn’t quit on Blake Moynes and Justin Glaze in ‘The Bachelorette’ 2021 finale
At the start of The Bachelorette finale, Katie revealed how she felt after Greg’s early departure. She was heartbroken and questioned everything. She also wanted to leave the show. The last she wanted was to head into Fantasy Suites uncertain. In the end, Katie wanted to continue the process.
Meanwhile, co-hosts Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams shared the news of Greg’s self-elimination with Justin and Blake. The two remaining contestants were shocked. But ultimately, they just wanted to know how this impacted Katie.
Blake Moynes and Katie Thurston get real during their Fantasy Suite date
The Bachelorette Season 17 Episode 10 moved right into Fantasy Suite week. First up was Blake, and Katie revealed everything that happened. She opened up about Michael Allio’s surprise exit and her breakup with Greg. She also shared that she wanted to leave the show after the split.
Meanwhile, Blake was a bit confused because he didn’t know exactly where her head was at. He also admitted that there would be “no point” if Katie had doubts going into an engagement. But eventually, Katie and Blake realized what they really wanted.
During the evening portion of their Fantasy Suite date, Blake revealed that he was in love with Katie and he was excited about their future together. Then Katie — who didn’t want to tell anyone she loved them until the end — reciprocated Blake’s feelings.
“I get to go to the Fantasy Suite with the guy that I love,” Katie said. “With Blake, I just feel like he completes me.”
Justin Glaze and Katie Thurston break up in ‘The Bachelorette’ finale
Following Blake and Katie’s Fantasy Suite date in The Bachelorette finale, viewers knew that Katie was not going to end up with Justin. This realization hurt even more when Justin told producers that he was in love with Katie. Then Katie proceeded to break up with the contestant because of how she felt about Blake.
“It’s not easy. I do not make this decision lightly,” Katie said and apologized to Justin.
In the end, Justin wished Katie well. But he was still upset by the breakup.
“It hurts,” Justin said. “I gave this everything.”
Katie Thurston picks Blake Moynes over Justin Glaze on ‘The Bachelorette’
After Justin’s exit, Blake met Katie’s family in The Bachelorette finale. At first, Blake felt pressure to be “perfect” because he knew he was the only one left. But after meeting Katie’s mom and aunt, Blake realized he had other things to worry about
The Bachelorette seemingly hinted that the final couple didn’t talk through important life events together. For one, Blake is from Canada, and Katie lived in Washington. So Blake started wondering whether he was ready for an engagement or marriage with Katie.
Later, Kate and Blake participated in the burning of Zozobra as they let go of their fears and entered a new chapter together. Katie admitted she couldn’t picture her life without the cast member. Then while getting ready for the final rose ceremony, the bachelorette revealed that Blake was the one. However, Blake started to hesitate while picking out engagement rings for Katie with Tayshia.
No one knew what to expect going into the final rose ceremony. But in the end, Katie picked Blake, and the contestant proposed. Now, Blake and Katie are engaged.
