Bachelor Mondays may be over, but Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette will return with a new tradition on Tuesday nights. So why did ABC decide to make the change this year? Recently, host Chris Harrison revealed why the reality series is shifting its schedule for the fall.

When will Clare Crawley’s season of ‘The Bachelorette’ be released in 2020?

The Bachelorette Season 16 was scheduled to start filming in March 2020. However, Crawley’s journey was put to a screeching halt when production shut down due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Then filmed resumed in July.

Even so, the production schedule caused The Bachelorette premiere to change dates. When Crawley was announced as the next lead, ABC shared new episodes would begin airing on Monday, Mar. 2. But after the shutdown, the network changed the release date to Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Chris Harrison explains why ‘Bachelor’ Mondays have turned into ‘Bachelorette’ Tuesdays

On Sept. 29, Harrison introduced Crawley’s Bachelorette cast to the world. The Bachelor Nation host went through all 31 men. Then he promoted the new season and reminded fans that the 2020 premiere airs on a Tuesday.

“I know we have thrown people through a loop. It’s a Tuesday,” Harrison said. “We have been on Mondays for many, many years. Maybe over a decade. We actually started on Wednesdays. But we’ve been on Mondays for a long time.”

Then he explained why there was a switch-up for The Bachelorette Season 16.

“Here’s the thing, The Bachelorette was supposed to air much earlier. We’re not usually on in the fall,” Harrison said. “So we got football, we got Dancing with the Stars … But because of that, we are going to be premiering on Tuesday nights.”

He continued, “So join us on Tuesday for, dare I say it, the most dramatic season ever. And guys, when I tell you you have to see this season to truly believe it, trust me. When have I ever told you it’s the most dramatic season ever? When have I just thrown that out there? You know I don’t do that.”

While the Monday night schedule was too full to fit The Bachelorette, fans can expect a drama-filled season. As Harrison mentioned, it could even be the “most dramatic” yet. And while the host says that often, he might mean it this time.

“In all seriousness, this is a phenomenal season,” Harrison said during The Bachelorette Season 16 cast preview. “I can’t wait to watch it myself, much less enjoy it with all of you. There are going to be so many strong opinions, so much to talk about. We have an incredible group of guys. So many amazing storylines. I can’t wait for you to unwrap this.”

Meanwhile, Harrison teased something big will happen to Crawley. Then in an interview with E! News published on Oct. 5, the host suggested the hairdresser’s journey will be absolutely wild.

“You always think you’ve seen it all and done it all. I’ve been doing this for 19 years,” Harrison said. “Inevitably, something happens that just blows your mind. This is an explosive season. It is a wild, explosive season.”

He continued, “It starts quickly with Clare. She is emotional and wears her heart on her sleeve. I think she was just bound and determined to come in here and find the love of her life. And that’s what she was set to do.”

Whatever happens to Crawley when The Bachelorette Season 16 airs on ABC, it’s clear things are about to get a little wild. So see you on Tuesday night.
