‘The Bachelorette’ Trailer Confirms a New Lead as Bachelor Nation Buzzes About Tayshia Adams and Clare Crawley
[Spoiler alert: The Bachelorette 2020.] The Bachelorette team isn’t just leaning into the rumors about Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams — they’re diving right in. For the past few weeks, the ABC reality series hinted at an explosive season with the possibility of more than one lead. Then Adams was heavily teased in the Oct. 27 promo. But the franchise didn’t exactly specify her role. Now, the latest trailer has officially confirmed a “new bachelorette.”
‘The Bachelorette’ Season 16 trailer teases a new lead after Clare Crawley
In The Bachelorette Season 16 promo trailer released on Oct. 31, Chris Harrison tells men from Crawley’s cast they are about to meet the new bachelorette.
“Boys, it’s great to see all of you here because you guys… got a little cheated,” the host says. “You didn’t really have an honest chance to find love. So your new bachelorette is on her way here right now. The big question — who is she?”
Harrison continues, “Well, how about I go get her and I’ll let her come in here? The next person to walk through those doors will be your new bachelorette — and possibly, your wife. Have fun tonight, I’ll see you guys later.”
The new Bachelorette trailer also highlights some of the men who remain. Joe, Demar, Ben, Eazy, Bennett, Ivan, Jay, Zac C., Chasen, Riley, Ed, and Brendon are in the preview, seemingly listening to Harrison. So it’s likely these suitors will meet the new lead. Regardless, no one appears concerned about Crawley’s absence. Rather, they’re all excited about their next adventure.
“As nervous as I am, I’m sure she’s doubly nervous right now,” Ivan says in the preview. Then Bennett adds, “I’m sure she’s nervous. But hopefully, she’s ready for what she’s getting into.”
The preview ends with a limo entrance as Harrison looks ahead in awe. So who’s inside? Well, we might have an idea.
Tayshia Adams is reportedly the new bachelorette after Clare Crawley
In early August 2020, multiple publications reported Adams as the new bachelorette, replacing Crawley after the Sacramento hairdresser fell in love with one of her contestants. According to E! News at the time, the new season would lead in with Crawley and tell her love story. Then after the final chapter, The Bachelorette would introduce Adams as the new lead.
Meanwhile, Life & Style Magazine claimed Crawley fell in love with Dale Moss. The publication also reported they’re now engaged. That said, Harrison continues to remind spoiled fans they don’t know what’s coming.
“We’re not pretending anymore, we’re with you,” Harrison told the New York Post on Oct. 29. “It was fun for us and challenging to try to decide how and if and where we’re going to lean into the rumors and lean into what happened. Even if things get spoiled or you might know [what’s going on], you don’t really know.”
But whatever happens as The Bachelorette continues to unravel more layers, the host pointed out that Adams will “probably” be the new lead.
“We went with Clare, and that was a great choice, because she’s done a phenomenal job at falling in love,” Harrison told Entertainment Tonight on Oct. 28. “But if things take a turn, then we may have to make a turn as well, and make a change. And will it be Tayshia? Probably. We’ll find out next week.”
The Bachelorette Season 16 Episode 4 will be released on Thursday, Nov. 5.
