The latest Bachelorette Season 16 trailer just delivered a plate full of drama — and the people involved aren’t exactly who you’d expect. In the Dec. 1 episode, Tayshia Adams confronted Noah Erb and Bennett Jordan’s petty bickering. But it seems the two-on-one tension will be the least of her worries, as The Bachelorette Week 9 promo suggests a major storm is coming for Riley Christian, Brendan Morais, and Zac Clark.

‘The Bachelorette’ Season 16 Episode 9 promo trailer highlights Riley, Brendan, and Zac C.

Uncertainty is the theme of The Bachelorette Season 16 Episode 9 promo trailer. The teaser opens with Adams sending someone home in a limo. She’s wearing the same dress from the impromptu two-on-one. So it’s likely Adams just eliminated Noah or Bennett. But regardless, she doesn’t appear set on her decision.

“Not the goodbye I expected,” Adams says. “It didn’t feel right at all.”

Even so, the show must go on. Next up, Adams is spotted with JoJo Fletcher, who is still filling in for Chris Harrison as host. They set up a lie detector test for a group date. Then Adams says in a voiceover, “Truth and honesty in a relationship is everything.”

The group date also paints  Zac C. as a cheater. After Fletcher seemingly asks the contestant whether he’s ever cheated on someone, Zac C. says, “Yes.” Then during the evening portion, Zac C. tells Adams he “hated today.” The lead is confused by the comment. “Why?” she says. “Cheating’s nothing I will tolerate.”

Eventually, Adams walks away from her conversation with Zac C. “Every time I talk to him, I uncover something that I’m just like, hold on a second,” she says in a voiceover.

Later, Zac C. is in tears. It’s no longer the group date, as he’s wearing a different shirt. “When you bring that into the equation, that makes it really real,” he says.

Meanwhile, things start to get real for Riley and Brendan. Brendan admits he’s scared about the “timeframe of proposing.” Then Riley suggests that he has a serious secret, noting Adams has “no idea” and he has “a little bit of explaining to do.” Riley also seems to contemplate self-elimination.

“Is today the day… I let myself go?” Riley says.

The Bachelorette trailer ends with an indistinguishable man sobbing outside.

In ABC’s press release for The Bachelorette Week 9, the network outlined the Dec. 8 episode. As expected the drama between Bennett and Noah will be the first to be addressed. Then a one-on-one date will “take a somber tone” after the contestant shares a “deeply emotional secret” from his past.

Meanwhile, five men will partake in the lie detector group date and everyone will “have some serious explaining to do.” The release also confirmed whoever receives a rose will move on to Hometowns. But whatever happens, it appears the ending of The Bachelorette Week 9 could change the course of Adams’ journey.

“Nothing could prepare the bachelorette for what would end her evening and potentially change the ending to her happily ever after,” the synopsis says.

Now, Adams has been keeping quiet about her Bachelorette ending. But when speaking with Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin on the Click Bait podcast, Adams teased her finale would be unexpected.

“There’s a lot that’s going to happen that I guarantee no people will expect, especially the ending,” she said.

That said, it appears Adams left the show in one piece. In an interview with Access, the bachelorette revealed she got exactly what wanted in the end.

“I’m happy because I really was myself, my authentic self — and that’s all I could ever really ask for,” she said.
