Bad Bunny Revealed the Name of His Next Album in an Online Classified Ad
Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny only rose to fame in the past few years, but he’s since become one of the most-followed names in reggaetón today. After a prolific 2020 and a 2021 filled with teases for his upcoming fourth album, it looks like El Conejo Malo is finally ready to release his next project — and reveal its title.
Bad Bunny released 3 albums in 2020
2020 was a breakout year for Bad Bunny. He performed at the Super Bowl halftime show alongside Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, and released his sophomore album YHLQMDLG just a few weeks later. The album was a smash, with hit songs including “Yo Perreo Sola” and “Safaera.”
Bad Bunny would go on to release two more albums in 2020: Las que no iban a salir and El Último Tour del Mundo. He released singles in 2021 including “Yonaguni” and “De Museo.” and in early 2022, he embarked on his first of two tours for the year: El Último Tour del Mundo, in support of the album of the same name.
Later in 2022, he’ll be performing on the World’s Hottest Tour in support of his upcoming fourth album.
Bad Bunny teased his new album, allegedly titled ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’
Bad Bunny has remained tight-lipped about his next album, but it appears that he’s gearing up for its release. In April 2022, an ad was posted on the website ClasificadosOnline listing Bad Bunny’s Bugatti for sale for $3.5 million. The ad was posted by Benito Martinez Ocasio — Bad Bunny himself.
The listing included a phone number with a San Juan area code that noted only calls were accepted. When you dial the number, it starts to play a low-quality clip of a new song, and after 45 seconds, it abruptly hangs up.
Some people even received texts after the calls ended, allegedly from Benito himself. “There’s only a little time left until the album comes out,” it read. “I can’t tell you the date, but I can tell you the name: Un Verano Sin Ti.” The title translates to “A Summer Without You.”
Bad Bunny is making his Hollywood debut in 2022
Bad Bunny has a busy 2022, with an album release on the horizon and another tour. He’ll also be making his big-screen debut this summer alongside Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock in the movie Bullet Train. It won’t be his first acting gig, however: he played famed hitman Kitty Paéz in Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico. And in 2024, he’ll be making history as the first Latine to star in a Marvel movie in El Muerto.
In an interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he admitted that acting is another way to explore his creativity. “It’s different but at the same time it’s the same, you know,” he said. “You have to work hard, to be responsible, and respect [your] colleagues. I enjoy it. It’s something new for me but I like it and I enjoy it. I’m learning, I’m practicing. I keep practicing, you know.”
