‘Basketball Wives’: Where CeCe Gutierrez and Kristen Scott’s Relationship Stands Today
CeCe Gutirrez’s time on Basketball Wives was brief but she left a mark. In addition to beefing with co-stars Evelyn Lozada and Jennifer Williams, Gutirrez began having drama with her own family on the show. The breakdown of her close friendship with Kristen Scott was chronicled. She recently updated fans on whether or not she and her stepdaughter-in-law have reconciled.
CeCe Guiterrez’s relationship with Kristen Scott unraveled on ‘Basketball Wives’
Gutirrez and Kristen formed a close bond due to Kristen’s family ties to Guiterrez’s then-fiance Byron Scott. Kristen is Byron’s daughter-in-law. She’s married to Bryon’s son Thomas.
The relationship between Gutirrez and Kristen began to unravel due to Guiterrez’s conflict with co-stars Lozada and Williams. Kristen befriended Lozada and Williams and often played phone tag by revealing personal conversations between her and Guiterrez about the women

Issues also began between Kristen and Byron when Byron felt Kristen made him look bad as a grandfather by alleging on television that Bryon doesn’t see her daughter. Bryon made it clear that he wanted nothing to do with Kristen and would only deal with his son.
Guiterrez told Reality Talk podcast during a recent interview that she has regrets over the way her family drama played out on television.
“What I do regret is the fact that it did get blown up out of proportion to the point where it may have hurt some people,” she said. “A lot of it is a mix of production work, a mix of storyline, a mix of people getting involved…I would never want to intentionally want to hurt anybody, especially from Byron’s family…I’m the one that was always trying to get along with everybody and making sure that things were cool. I’m the least aggressive one. But I felt like it was storyline after storyline is all I can say.”
Kristen Scott and CeCe Gutierrez are currently not on speaking terms
Gutirrez and Byron married in 2020. Unfortunately, neither Thomas nor Kristen attended the ceremony. Kristen addressed such on social media confirming she was not in attendance but insists she wishes Gutirrez and Byron the best.
Sadly, Kristen and Gutirrez currently have no relationship. Gutirrez also admits that she’s not in contact with her stepson Thomas either but does maintain a relationship with Bryon’s daughter London, who was also featured on the show.

“London and I have a great relationship. I spend a lot of time with her kids, the grandkids. Kristen and Thomas and I don’t speak, still to this day,” she said. “That’s where we stand right now. I believe they moved away but I don’t really know much about that. But we wish them well, especially during this crazy time.”
Thankfully, Bryon and Thoma’s relationship is back on track according to Gutierrez, with her noting, “Thomas and Byron have a great relationship! Nothing’s changed with that.”
Gutierrez says she quit the show because of the family drama and would not return. She’s open to participating in a different reality show.
