‘Baylen Out Loud’: Who Is Baylen Dupree’s Boyfriend Colin Dooley?
TLC’s newest star is a 22-year-old TikTok sensation. Baylen Dupree is sharing what it’s like to be a young woman with Tourette syndrome in her new reality series Baylen Out Loud.
Living with Tourette’s – which causes uncontrollable tics – can be a challenge for Baylen. Fortunately, she has the support of her family and friends. She also has her boyfriend, Colin Dooley, whom she calls “the world’s best boyfriend” and her “medicine.”
Colin and Baylen have been dating since 2022
Baylen and Colin have been dating since 2022. The couple met on a dating app, and it was “love at first sight,” she told People. But Colin admits there was a “learning curve” as he familiarized himself with Tourette’s.
“I’m still learning,” he said in a video for Seen.TV on Instagram. “To this day, I’ll still ask Baylen questions. I never had any idea that Tourette’s could be, like, vocal, hitting yourself, or just like, phrases, sentences.”
Colin takes his girlfriend’s tics in stride, though they can cause some awkward moments, such as when she blurts out that she’s pregnant during a conversation with his parents that’s shown in the trailer. Baylen quickly clarifies that she’s not expecting. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want a family. She told Us Weekly that she’d like to have kids with Colin in the next few years.
For now, Colin is a huge supporter of his girlfriend. In December, he was thrilled to share the first trailer for Baylen Out Loud on Instagram.
“We have been waiting so long to share this surprise! I am so proud of Baylen and how far she has come!” he wrote.
Colin is in the U.S. Air Force
Baylen is dreaming of a future with Colin, but the couple doesn’t have an easy road ahead. He’s a member of the military, and his career could take him away from his girlfriend.
“I am in the United States Air Force,” he explains in the trailer. “And I have a relocation coming up. I could end up anywhere.”
Baylen can’t imagine not having Colin around. “I don’t want him to leave,” she tearfully says. But going with Colin would be a challenge. Baylen still lives with her parents, who aren’t sure she can manage living independently. And activities like flying on a plane can be a difficult for Baylen. But she says Colin’s support is a vital part of her journey.
“He just understands me so well,” she told People. “He distracts me from a lot of the things that consume my day and my time … It just really helps just having someone there who gets it and understands me.”
Colin might be a huge support for Baylen, but it’s not a one-way relationship.
“The biggest misconception is that she’s a burden on me,” he said.
Baylen Out Loud airs Monday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
