Become a ‘Bellioniare’, Visit Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Island, and Get a Celebrity Dodo Code
Lockdown is hard. Although a lot of people — even celebrities — are getting used to the new normal, the transition wasn’t easy. One thing that made it more bearable? Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The game has been around for a long time, but the Nintendo Switch version was released just in time to get folks through the pandemic with relatively good mental health. Even celebrities are getting in on the action.
Chrissy Teigen is a ‘bellionaire’
Although Chrissy Teigen is a social media butterfly, she’s not into being social in the game. Teigen has been posting Animal Crossing content on her incredibly popular Twitter feed since the game was released, but she doesn’t take advantage of all the game has to offer.
According to Teigen, she likes to fish, and shake trees for money. At this point she’s probably ‘bellionaire,’ but she’s not sharing. Teigen posted: “I don’t like visiting other people’s islands or inviting people to mine. I honestly don’t really get or care for the switch friend code thing.”
That’s a surprising stance coming from someone so social. But even though she doesn’t like visiting other islands, Teigen doesn’t play alone. Her mom, Vilailuck, plays too.
The two women are excellent cooks, and even made a recipe from the game in real life, per Guilty Eats.
Danny Trejo is giving out his dodo code
Danny Trejo is basically the opposite of Teigen when it comes to Animal Crossing. He loves having friends come to his island. He even offered to give it out on Twitter, which is a risky move considering how social media platforms can be. Hopefully he found some comfort in the game during quarantine.
Trejo wasn’t the only celebrity hanging out with the general public in the game. Elijah Wood made a Fan’s day when he went to her island and bought her turnips. According to the fan, she posted the prices on Twitter.
The next thing she new, Wood showed up to take advantage of the sale. “guys I tweeted my turnip prices and elijah wood just came to my island and hung out this is the best day in quarantine yet.”
Riverdale star Cole Sprouse also visited fans islands to sell turnips. Sprouse was so desperate for a deal that he tweeted about turnips, asking fans what they were offering them for.
Guy Fieri has Flavortown Island
During lockdown, Guy Fieri couldn’t travel around to different restaurants and try out local gems like he does on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. But he found a way to get out and sample local cuisine, virtually at least.
Fieri posted about his island, which of course is called Flavortown Island, on Twitter. He even made a joke about trying out Tom Nook’s cooking. “I’m here on Flavortown Island checkin’ out a joint run by local legend, Tom Nook!”
Brie Larson is all about merch
Apparently Brie Larson has been a fan of the game since she was a little kid. She and her sister would play it all the time, so she has been waiting for New Horizons to come out for a long time.
When the game came out, she even showed off an Animal Crossing shirt on Instagram with the caption: “Already obsessed with #AnimalCrossing: New Horizons! I’ve missed Tom Nook so much! If you are looking for sweet ways to spend time at home, I highly recommend you grab your #NintendoSwitch and escape to your own island getaway Now, who has iron nuggets they can give me?”
Larson isn’t the only celeb into Animal Crossing gear. Blink-182 member Mark Hoppus was so into the game that he bought an amiibo of himself.
