Since the rise of A Million Little Things, stars of the show have become familiar faces. Some of the cast — such as Ron Livingston — were well-known before, but others found more fame after. Such is the case with Stephanie Szostak.
Shows like ‘A Million Little Things wasn’t Stephanie Szostak’s first career path
Szostak didn’t necessarily plan on becoming an actor while growing up in Paris, France, but that’s where she landed. By the time college rolled around, Szostak moved to Virginia in the U.S. to attend the College of William & Mary, where she studied business and played varsity golf, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in marketing.
A move to the Big Apple later and Szostak landed a job marketing for Chanel. She used her degree, but after a few acting classes, the A Million Little Things star realized her true path.
The ABC series is just one of Szostak’s credits. IMDb lists just over two dozen other projects, including Iron Man 3, The Blacklist, We Bought a Zoo, and more.
This was Szostak’s ‘big break’ into Hollywood
As A Million Little Things prepares for its 3rd season, it’s worth diving into Szostak’s “big break.” Some may remember her in a little film, The Devil Wears Prada, opposite Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.
“That was [cast by] Ellen Lewis. She was fantastic. I had never done a studio movie, and I got the call and I was like, Oh, my god, I’m opposite Meryl Streep,” Szostak told Backstage. “I was in the waiting room so nervous and thought I didn’t do anything great, but then I got a callback with the director.”
In the 2006 critically-acclaimed film which was based on a novel by the same name, Szostak played French Vogue Editor Jacqueline Follet who rivaled that of Streep’s Miranda Priestly.
What we know about the return of ‘AMLT’ Season 3
On Thursday, Nov. 19, A Million Little Things returns for season 3 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC. The cast and crew began shooting in late Aug. following the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic shut down in March.
Series creator DJ Nash previously tweeted real-world themes of today might be part of the season 3 storyline.
“Our show works very hard to be authentic,” Nash tweeted. “It seems hard to do that and not address everything going on in the world right now.”
Nash said the entire third season was already planned out as far back as 2019. But, as far as what mysteries and dramas Nash will focus more on, his lips are sealed. We’ll just have to watch and find out.
