‘Bel-Air’ Season 2 is On Its Way: Here Are 5 Predictions
The dramatic reboot of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, shortened to Bel-Air, will return for season 2. Here are five predictions about what might happen in the upcoming season.
Geoffrey has to return at some point in ‘Bel-Air’ Season 2
After Vy (April Parker Jones) told Will (Jabari Banks) about his father, Uncle Phil (Adrian Holmes) asked Geoffrey (Jimmy Akingbola) to keep Lou (Marlon Wayans) away from the teenager. However, the house manager refused and later gave Will a file on his dad after he asked. Not wanting to cause any drama, the 17-year-old chose not to read it, returning the report to Uncle Phil, who discovered Geoffrey didn’t listen to him.
When the house manager admitted he would protect the Banks family, Phil thought they should part ways, even if it meant going against the patriarch. Now that he “proved” Geoffrey wrong by pulling out of the race to support his family more, the longtime friend might return. However, it’s unclear how the house manager will return. He may come back because one of the Banks’ children, or Will, finds themselves in trouble or if Rashad Denton’s (Eazy the Block Captain) murder comes back on him. Additionally, as Uncle Phil will run the house with Vivian likely taking the fellowship, he might need Geoffrey’s help.
Vivian and Reid get too close for comfort
Gallery owner Reid (Michael Ealy) took an interest in Vivian’s (Cassandra Freeman) work and played a pivotal role in her picking up a paintbrush again to get back into painting. After walking in on the two privately talking in her art room and noticing Reid bid on the piece, Uncle Phil wondered what was going on between the two.
Therefore, he unexpectedly interrupted their conversation at an out-of-town gallery, putting a strain on their relationship. After he pulled out of the district attorney race, Vivian accepted the fellowship and met with Reid to thank him. She also suggested they continue working together. As it seems Reid’s interest in Vivian goes a little further than her art, there’s a possibility he might attempt to cross the line. If he does, she may have to quit her passion again.
Carlton and Lisa get back together in ‘Bel-Air’ Season 2
Before Will moved to Bel-Air, his cousin Carlton (Olly Sholotan) dated his family friend Lisa (Simone Joy Jones). However, it didn’t work out, presumably due to his anxiety that he coped with using drugs. During a conversation with Will, she admitted she got tired of having to tiptoe around his emotions, a comment Carlton overheard. Ultimately, Lisa and Will bonded over losing a parental figure and eventually began dating before breaking up when she discovered why he relocated from Philadelphia.
Even though Carlton had a hard time with it, he finally got over it as he didn’t want to have a decades-long feud with his cousin like their mothers. When Will runs away after feeling betrayed by the Banks, Carlton immediately goes to Lisa’s house looking for him in the series finale. When talking about how badly he wanted Will to return, the lacrosse player got emotional, and the two hugged. As Carlton claimed he flushed his drugs, he may learn to manage his anxiety more healthily. If that is why they ended their relationship, the two might find their way back to each other.
Ashley gets a girlfriend
Before revealing her attraction toward girls and guys in a conversation with older sister Hilary (Coco Jones), the youngest Banks (Akira Akbar) snuck out to hang out with her crush until Geoffrey found her and brought her home.
However, after discovering her love interest had an attraction to Will, viewers haven’t heard if anyone else has caught her eye yet. The show will likely continue exploring her sexuality, and she may get into a relationship sometime in Bel-Air Season 2.
Will explores a relationship with his father, Lou in ‘Bel-Air’ Season 2
During the series finale, Will finally read the report about his father and discovered Lou had a rough upbringing and eventually landed in prison. Upset that his family let him believe his father abandoned him, Will wanted to meet him. After Lou revealed that he stayed away due to his experience of visiting his dad in jail, the teenager’s heart softened, and they began to talk about his childhood.
However, the conversation went left when Lou started speaking negatively about his mother. Even though he and his father nearly came to blows, it’s possible he still wants to get to know his father for himself and make his own decision if he wants to cut his dad out or not. Bel-Air is streaming on Peacock.
