The Real Reason Bella Thorne Shared Her Nude Photos On Twitter
Early Saturday morning, Bella Thorne sent the Internet into a tailspin when she released nude photos of herself on Twitter. Almost immediately, the actress found herself trending on Twitter and on Google with over 200,000 people flocking to her social media channels to find out more. But what’s the real reason that the 21-year-old chose to release such intimate pictures of herself?
Invasion of privacy
Too often, we don’t regard celebrities as people. We feel that because they have a certain job, we are entitled to all the personal details of their lives. Furthermore, people often hack into celebrities’ personal and private information in order to blackmail or extort them. This is exactly what happened in Thorne’s case.
The actress took to her Twitter page to share the images and her story. Along with the nude pictures, the former Disney star posted screenshots of her text conversation with a hacker who was threatening to share her private photos with the masses. In the conversation, the hacker appears to be bragging that he has gained access to the actress’ private videos and photos.
Changing the narrative
But rather than becoming just another victim to a gross invasion of privacy, Thorne instead decided to change the narrative and take her power back by posting the nude photos herself. She then took the opportunity to call out the disgusting hacker who used her private photos and moments for his own personal gain. In the iPhone notes app, Thorne wrote a message to the hacker and her fans about how this breach of privacy has affected her.
“Yesterday as u all know all my sh*t was hacked. For the last 24 hours, I have been threatened with my own nudes. I feel gross, I feel watched. I feel someone has taken something from me that I only wanted one special person to see” the Shake It Up actress writes.
Bella claps back
The 21-year-old then goes on to share that this is not the first time this particular hacker has violated someone’s privacy in this way. “He has sent me multiple nude photos of other celebs, he won’t stop with me or them he will just keep going.” the singer declares.
Thorne then alludes as to how she has been taken advantage of in the past, leading many fans to think she was referencing the sexual assault she suffered in her youth. “For too long I let a man take advantage over and over and I’m fuc*ing sick of it. I’m putting this out because it’s MY DECISION. NOW U DON’T GET TO TAKE YET ANOTHER THING FROM ME” Thorne said with conviction.
Taking the power back
The Famous In Love actress then reclaims the power and control over the unfortunate situation, “I can sleep tonight better knowing I took my power back. U can’t control my life u never will. Here’s the photos he’s been threatening me with, in other words here’s my boobies. So here, fu*k u and the last 24 hours I have been crying instead of celebrating my book while doing my book press.”
But Thorne doesn’t just leave it there, she ends it with a threat to end all threats, “Oh yea, the FBI will be at your house shortly. so watch. Your. Mother. Fuc*in. Back Fu*k you and the power u think you have over me. I’m gonna write about this in my next book.”
We commend Thorne for the courage it took to stand up for herself during this vile attack on her privacy.
