‘Below Deck’ Fraser Reveals Why His Makeup Was ‘a Disaster’ in His Confessionals
Fraser Olender from Below Deck said he’s fully aware that his makeup was off in his confessionals referring to it as a “disaster.”
A few fans on social media wondered why Olender looked different in his confessionals and he recently opened up about what happened, cringing along with everyone else.
He knew something went wrong in the confessionals
Olender chatted with former chief stew Hannah Ferrier from Below Deck Mediterranean who asked about the makeup. “OK, here we go. Furious. Going forward, Hannah, I will never have anyone ever do my makeup ever again,” he said on her Dear Reality, You’re Effed podcast.
She laughed, “Oh, did you piss someone in makeup off, Fraser?”
“Well, apparently!” he exclaimed. “So basically, I don’t want to out this too much. But we do our interviews between trips, right? And then four months afterward, four to six months after we do pickups. Where we give them more footage.”
“And I think that it was those times where I didn’t have the makeup artists from the show do me justice,” he added. “Or the lighting was bad or whatever. I looked like I had terrible jaundice in every single scene, and it is so hard to watch. Everyone’s like his makeup is a disaster and it was. It looks awful. It looks so bad. I’m so embarrassed.”
He said the makeup was ‘so embarassing’
He said the makeup artist in the field typically did a good job. “I know which ones were done in the field. I know which ones were not on the field, but it’s so bad, Hannah. And it’s so embarrassing. It’s like, I didn’t that to myself, like someone f****** s*** on me and I now have to live this the rest of my life!”
A Below Deck fan tweeted, “Wait @FraserOlender who did your confessional makeup?!? And what did you do to hurt them?!? They can’t be doing that to the best stew this show has seen!!!”
Another person wrote, “Jfc. Whoever did Fraser’s makeup for the commentary was colorblind.”
Hannah Ferrier shared her own story of makeup gone wrong
Ferrier said she did her own makeup at one point and then slept it in it. “No, don’t worry, I did mine on the boat because obviously, we were inside so we would never get a tan,” she recalled. “And I know that you look skinnier with a tan on. So I used to do it in my bathroom and then sleep in it overnight. And one night I did it after a big night out and I woke up and I was like, Oh my God, it was like, I had to wash my hands. I had tan all over my hands. It was like just the worst tan job.”
Olender said he never uses fake tanning products. “I don’t fake tan at all,” he remarked. “I have fake tanned long ago, but I don’t fake tan at all. It was just terrible makeup. The best available makeup artist, get in touch. We need you for pickups. We need you in L.A. for Below Deck please!”
