‘Below Deck Med’: Bugsy Drake Has a New Boyfriend and It’s Not Alex Radcliffe
Christine “Bugsy” Drake from Below Deck Mediterranean recently shared she is seeing someone new and (unfortunately for fans) it isn’t Alex Radcliffe.
Drake and Radcliffe had a playful boatmance during season 5 and remained friends after the show ended. Many fans hoped the two would finally start dating but Drake says she’s seeing someone new. Who is the lucky guy? Drake said she’s not quite ready to go Instagram official and is taking it slow.
Bugsy Drake isn’t ready to go Instagram official just yet
Drake recently discussed all things Below Deck Med, which is when she dished about her new romance. “I am seeing someone,” she said with a smile to Domenick Nati on an Instagram Live. “Actually I met him on a boat. It’s not Alex, for everyone who wonders from the show. Alex and I are still great friends.”
“But I’m seeing somebody, it’s kind of new,” she said. “So I don’t have too many details on it. But yeah, we’ll see how it goes.” Adding, “He’s not from the show, no.” But her new man is a yachtie, she disclosed. “He’s a step up from a deckhand,” she shared. “Which is known as a bosun.”
Drake said she’s been seeing the new boyfriend for a “good couple of months.” Adding, “But it’s on a yacht so you don’t know how long these things will last. It’s this kind of industry that I work in, you know. You’re not in a stable sort of environment that allows relationships to develop long-term. So it definitely can be a hit or miss.”
She is also waiting to go Instagram official too. “I wanna make sure it’s the real deal before I do that,” Drake said. “Instagram gets really excited.”
Alex Radcliffe and Bugsy Drake are still good friends
“Alex and I have got that type of relationship,” she said in reference to flirty Instagram posts fans have seen with Radcliffe. “It’s just I’ve said it before, we both work on different boats so it’s kind of like we’re never in the same area for long periods of time.”
“So it kind of makes our relationship a little bit hard to have anything romantic,” she added. “But if we were on the same boat, or in the same area, you never know what could have or could happen in the future. He’s such a great guy and I have the most fun with him. So it’s fantastic.”
Radcliffe seems to be having the time of his life being single. He’s shared videos and photos on Instagram where he is working in various boats in some beautiful destinations. He also keeps in touch with former cast members and has become friends with other Below Deck Med alums like Bobby Giancola.
“It’s Saturday, time to have your ‘low key’ brunch with the squad,” Radcliffe shared along with a video in April. “I swear [Bobby Giancola] is the bad influence on me so I give full permission to make fun of him here.”
