‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’: Captain Glenn’s Reaction to the Crew Swimming While Drunk – ‘This Is The Reason I Never Had Children’
Captain Glenn Shephard from Below Deck Sailing Yacht had the perfect response to the rowdy, drunk crew members who decided to go swimming after a night of drinking.
After being jarred from his sleep by the crew’s squeals, Shephard hears them plunging into the water. “This is the reason I never had children,” he says in a confessional. Shephard is then seen rolling over in his bunk trying to muffle the sounds coming from the wild crew members. Other crew members are seen rustling around in their bunk as the three crew members are being very noisy.
The crew may be facing a reckoning
The next day starts out rough. Alli Dore, who was one of the rambunctious, drunk crew members tries to get out of her top bunk. She ends up rolling out but falling and crashing into the bunk below. The other two crew, Gary King and Sydney Zaruba are in King’s bunk and he wonders how she ended up in his bed.
Previews don’t show the precise fallout as Shephard will certainly have words for the King, Dore, and Zaruba. Shephard originally told the crew they were not supposed to drink that night because they were picking up charter the next day. The rest of the crew went to bed but the other three not only got drunk, but they went swimming at night while drunk.
Viewers knew the crew getting drunk and swimming at night was completely wrong. “If Glenn doesn’t seriously reprimand Gary for jumping off the boat naked and drunk when its dark in next week’s #BelowDeckSailing episode I don’t want it,” one viewer tweeted.
Another person wrote, “So the three drinking shots and jumping off the boat together screaming away while workers rest up for customers arrival in a few hours might be your weakest links!”
Captain Lee from ‘Below Deck’ wouldn’t have been happy
Captain Lee Rosbach from Below Deck didn’t comment on the crew swimming at night while drunk, but fans probably have a good idea of how he would have reacted. Last season, he bounced charter guest, Delores Flora for the exact behavior, furious she jumped into the water when he told her it was too dangerous.
“Delores diving into the water is the ultimate f**k you to the captain,” Rosbach said in a confessional. “She’s drunk, it’s dark, I don’t need somebody jeopardizing their own life on my watch.”
He also blogged about the moment reminding fans he was still reeling from Ashton’s Pienaar’s accident during season 6. “Well, this has been an eventful charter so far, right? I mean, these guys can really put it away,” Rosbach wrote.
“Most of them seem to be just fine, but, yeah, there is always that one isn’t there?” he continued. “Especially after almost losing Ashton last year, this is not what I need nor will I tolerate it as you may have noticed. You want to put your life at risk, feel free, but damned sure won’t be on my boat.”
