Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Paget Berry Opens up About New Girlfriend – ‘We’re Both Madly in Love’ (Exclusive)
Paget Berry from Below Deck Sailing Yacht said he’s found love with his new girlfriend and he couldn’t be happier.
Berry met his new girlfriend over the summer while docked in Newport, Rhode Island, and his affection quickly grew. “We met in May when I was in Newport, Rhode Island, at the time,” he told Showbiz Cheat Sheet.
“That’s where the boat I work on is primarily based in the summer,” he added. “And yeah, we met there. And her sort of line was, ‘Would you like a tour guide?’ Because I’d never been to Newport before. I was like, ‘Well, you know, you’re pretty. You’re funny.’ Why not, you know? Yeah, let’s see how this goes.” Love quickly blossomed and needless to say, Berry is smitten.
Who is Paget Berry’s new girlfriend?
Berry wasn’t ready to throw his new girlfriend’s identity to the masses but offered a few details. First of all, she’s not in yachting. “She’s a ‘landi,’ which I’m quite happy for,” he said. “She’s basically an interior designer, but she’s also managing a boutique store at the moment that she’s worked at for some time. So it’s like a bohemian boutique store. And then she used to do sort of freelancing interior design. So she’s quite creative, quite fun.”
She also didn’t know who he was before their first date. “The funny thing is before we went on our first date, she didn’t know who I was,” he said. “Which for me, it’s better. Because sometimes you don’t know if it’s genuine or whatnot. But when she was going to meet me, I think obviously as girls do, she had friends and she was showing them pictures of who I was. And her friend was like, ‘Do you know who that is?’ And she’s like, ‘No.’ That’s Paget from Below Deck. She’s like, ‘What?’ She’s like, ‘Yeah, he’s on a reality TV show.'”
Needless to say, Berry’s girlfriend asked about the show toward the end of their date – then she went home and binged his entire season. He laughed, “She was like, ‘Yeah I just wanted to make sure you weren’t a psycho!’ But she said, ‘No there was nothing I saw that was terrible at all.'”

He describes their relationship as being easy. “It’s hard to explain, she makes it effortless,” he remarked. “The long-term goal in that respect, obviously, me being in yachting. [And now] yachting is not my long-term [plan] sort of. I mean, it has been. It’s my 11th year now going into it next year.”
“Now I’ve met somebody who’s not in yachts and who I actually really want to have a future with and to build with,” Berry continued. “And yeah, we’re sort of making tentative plans for the next couple of years. You know, it might sound weird saying that. But when you’re with somebody, you just sort of know.”
“And yeah, it’s made me question all my past relationships, really, because maybe what I thought love was or what I thought was meant to be a successful relationship and all that sort of jazz,” he added. “But yeah, it’s a very easygoing relationship.”
Does he speak to Ciara Duggan from ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’?
Berry said he could not be happier and his family saw a change. “I’m happy,” he said. “I’m happier in general, really. And it’s not dependent all on one person, of course. But I just feel like I have a goal. I’m happy in my job. I’m happy with my partner. Sort of the stars aligned, so to speak.”
He hopes to someday settle down on the East Coast and sees his special someone by his side. The couple has dated for about six months so an engagement isn’t exactly on the table – but it certainly isn’t out the question either. “We are taking it as in one step at a time, but we have an eye on the bigger picture,” he said. “We’re both very madly in love, so it’s one of those things that could happen.”
Does he still speak to ex-fiance Ciara Duggan? He wishes her well and hopes she is happy, but they only communicate about shared assets. “Ciara and I are on talking terms with regards to like logistical stuff as in we have a house in common. Which we’re going through, which we’re going to be sorting out,” he said. Berry and Duggan purchased a house in France shortly before they split.
“I hope she’s happy and I hope she’d feel the same way for me as well because we’ve known each other for, you know, over ten years,” he said. “So for me, there’s no malicious feelings at all. I’ve moved completely on. I’m a different person and I’m with the right person, which we at the time we both weren’t with.”
