Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s Kids See Affleck’s New Home as ‘The End,’ Source Says
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez seem closer to divorcing than ever. The couple’s love story started in the early 2000s when they met on the set of Gigli. After ending their engagement, they went their separate ways in 2004, but they fell back in love in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022. Sadly, Affleck is fueling the divorce rumors by buying a new house by himself. Here’s what a source said about his and Lopez’s kids thinking it’s a sign of “the end.”
Ben Affleck’s 3 kids and Jennifer Lopez’s twins think Affleck’s new home is ‘the end’ of their family, a source says
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez adore their blended family. Affleck has three kids with Jennifer Garner — Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12. Lopez has 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max, from her marriage with Marc Anthony. Lopez and Affleck developed a close relationship with each other’s kids, and the kids, who are also close in age, became friends.
Unfortunately, all signs point to divorce for Affleck and Lopez. In July 2024, Affleck bought a home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles for $20 million. Earlier that month, he and Lopez publicly listed their $68 million Beverly Hills mansion for sale. A source told Closer Weekly that the five kids think Affleck’s new house is a sign of “the end of their blended family.”
“The biggest casualty of their breakup are the kids, of course,” the source explained. “Ben’s children love Jennifer, and her kids adore Ben. The new home is bittersweet because the kids see it as an end of their blended family. All the kids have bonded.”
No matter what happens between Lopez and Affleck, Affleck reportedly wants to welcome Lopez’s kids to his new house. “Ben says his home has an open-door policy for Emme and Max, and I’m sure Jennifer will do the same when she finds her new home,” the source added.
The kids reportedly want to maintain friendships if their parents divorce
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s kids developed close bonds with each other, and they don’t want to see their friendships with their stepsiblings disappear. A source told In Touch Weekly that the kids want to maintain relationships with each other, no matter what happens with Lopez and Affleck.
“To say they’re meddling and trying to get them back together is just not accurate,” the insider said. “Most of all, they just want them to be happy. What is true is that they’re vowing not to let this affect their bond. They’ve all been in touch throughout this split, and Emme and Fin especially are staying super close.”
Affleck and Lopez’s marriage might be in doubt, but they allegedly want their children to maintain friendships.
“They still consider each other family no matter what, and the good thing is Ben and J. Lo are both totally supportive of that,” the source added.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are allegedly rushing to sell their Beverly Hills mansion
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are allegedly “in a rush” to sell their Beverly Hills mansion. It seems neither has lived in the house since June 2024. Affleck reportedly has a $100,000 monthly rental in the Brentwood neighborhood near Jennifer Garner, and Lopez has spent ample time in the Hamptons in New York.
“They decided to list the house very recently, within the last week,” a source told Us Weekly. “They thought they could sell it off-market but made a game-time decision in order to put more eyes on the property. They are in a rush to sell it. Ben especially wants to be done with the house. He was never happy there.”
Lopez hasn’t bought another property since putting the Beverly Hills mansion up for sale. Some sources claim she’s also looking for a new place to plant roots.
