Lopez and Affleck spent their summers on opposite coasts. While Affleck spent his time in LA, Lopez spent time in the Hamptons in New York and Europe. She showed off her extravagant Bridgerton-themed birthday party on Instagram and posted bikini photos to flaunt her fit future. Affleck didn’t attend his wife’s birthday party. Neither acknowledged their wedding anniversary on social media. A source told In Touch Weekly that Affleck doesn’t like how Lopez presents her current lifestyle to the world.
“Of course, Ben is well aware that J. Lo’s been staging photo ops all around the Hamptons to try and look like she hasn’t got a care in the world,” the source explained. “But he knows otherwise because when they talk, she shows a much different side, so all this phoniness is just making him relieved he doesn’t have to live in her made-up world anymore.”
The insider added that Lopez would need to “tone it way down” to win Affleck back, “But of course, she’s doing the opposite, and he finds it totally cringey and contrived.” Lopez’s image is “proving to Ben that he made the right choice in pulling the plug.”
Ben Affleck recently discussed how he hates public attention
Ben Affleck hates excess media attention — an opinion he had in common with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Unfortunately, Jennifer Lopez doesn’t seem to mind the craze surrounding her. Affleck spoke on Kevin Hart’s Peacock show, Hart to Heart, about what it’s like going anywhere with his famous wife.
“We went somewhere with [Jennifer] — I can’t remember because she’s so famous, and she creates this — people love her, and she really represents something important to people,” Affleck said. “[To me,] people are like, ‘Hey, I like your movie,’ and then they’re like ‘Ah! J.Lo!’ It’s amazing, you know what I mean?”
Affleck recalled when he and Lopez had to walk a block and a half through Times Square. He called the crowds and the fans “f***ing bananas.”
“I don’t like a lot of attention,” he added. “This is why people see me, and they’re like, ‘Why is this dude always mad?’ Because someone had their camera sticking in my face, and I’m like, ‘OK, here we go.'”
The estranged couple reportedly hasn’t seen or spoken to each other in weeks
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez might not be on speaking terms. While Lopez reportedly returned to the West Coast for the first time in weeks or months, it wasn’t to reunite with her estranged husband. Additionally, Affleck bought a $20 million mansion of his own while Lopez spent her birthday in the Hamptons.
A source told TMZ that Affleck and Lopez’s lack of communication is slowing their divorce proceedings. Additional sources said that the couple did not hire lawyers and are using their business managers to help figure out the financials.
