“Ben and Jen are closer than ever,” a source told Life & Style in December 2024. “They’ve developed a mutual respect and a deeper level of friendship they didn’t have before. It has some friends asking if they could be on their way to getting back together.”
Affleck recently spent Thanksgiving with Garner, as they teamed up with Midnight Mission to feed 2,000 homeless and near-homeless people in the Los Angeles area. The Gone Girl actor headed to his ex’s place for dinner with his kids. After Thanksgiving, they were reportedly spotted driving around together.
The source added that Garner has “watched” Affleck “evolve” post-divorce. “She’s seen the progress and the transformation, and it’s changed how she feels about him,” the source continued, noting, “It’s no secret that Ben thinks Jen was the best thing to ever happen to him.”
The insider speculated that Garner and her boyfriend, John Miller, haven’t tied the knot yet because of her close bond with Affleck. “I mean, if Jen and John were going to get married, they probably would have done it already,” the source continued.

“Privately, he has been known to find it a little bit intimidating that she’s still so close to Ben,” the source alleged, “especially when he’s reminded about their red-hot connection back in the day.” The insider noted that Garner’s comment about Affleck’s naked shower scene in Gone Girl “really bugs” Miller. However, “he doesn’t dwell on it,” as “he understands she had a past before him” and that Affleck still occupies space in her life.
The source added that Garner reassured her boyfriend that “she’s still all in” on their romance.

“She’s very concerned about his health, to the point where she reminds him when he needs to see the doctor and the dentist and even sends him vitamins to take because she’s convinced he doesn’t get enough healthy food when she’s not cooking for him,” the insider continued.
The source added that Affleck “loves” Garner looking after him. “He goes to her whenever he has a big career or life decision to make for her advice,” they alleged.
