In November 2024, Affleck and Garner had Thanksgiving as a family despite Affleck’s ongoing divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
Affleck and Garner started their Thanksgiving by teaming up with Midnight Mission to feed 2,000 homeless and near-homeless people in the Los Angeles area. Photos showed Affleck walking to Garner’s place in the Brentwood neighborhood to join his ex and their three kids for dinner.
“Even though Ben and Jen have been split for a while now, he feels a certain level of comfort with her,” an insider explained to Page Six. “Ben has a strong relationship with Jen that will never dissipate because they have a lot of history together and she’s the mother of his kids.” The source added that this isn’t the first time the exes spent time together on the holiday, as “they’ll always be close.”
Garner and Affleck’s three kids allegedly love seeing their parents together. A source told People that the family had a “nice Thanksgiving.”
“They celebrated Thanksgiving as a family,” the source noted. “The kids love having everyone together. Jen hosted dinner at her house.”
As for Jennifer Lopez, she previously explained that she planned to spend the holidays with her kids, Max and Emme Muñiz, 16. She likely did not see Affleck, as they no longer live together.

A source told DailyMail.com that Affleck and Lopez’s kids hoped their parents could talk out their differences.
“The kids think Jennifer and Ben are really, deeply in love, like soul mates, and they don’t want them to divorce,” the insider explained. “They want them to work it out for better or for worse, like their vows said. And they do feel that the two should continue counseling and talking it out, even if it is painful. They feel like if they do and say the right things that there could be more peace.”

“Jen no longer wishes to have communication with J.Lo unless it is do with the kids,” a source told DailyMail.com. “Her friends feel she shouldn’t have allowed herself to get so involved in helping J.Lo to fix her marriage to Ben.”
Several insiders alleged that Garner helped Affleck through his marital issues with Lopez until Lopez filed for divorce. While Garner might be done with Lopez, Garner and Affleck’s daughter, Violet, retains a close relationship with Lopez while in college.
