Ben Affleck Praises Jennifer Lopez’s Impact on Women Around the World
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are one of Hollywood’s hottest couples at the moment. The two of them have not been shy about sharing their love for each other. Affleck also recently revealed how much he admires Lopez for her impact on women around the world.

Affleck and Lopez’s first attempt at love started 2002. Fans and the media had a huge interest in their relationship—they were even dubbed “Bennifer.” Affleck and Lopex got engaged after just several months of dating. However, the couple split in 2004.
In 2016, Lopez opened up about her relationship with Affleck and said they could have worked in a “different time.”
“We just happened to be together at the birth of the tabloids, and it was like, ‘Oh my God.’ It was just a lot of pressure,” she told People. “I think different time, different thing, who knows what could’ve happened? But there was a genuine love there.”
In early 2021, Affleck and Lopez surprised onlookers when they rekindled their romance. Since then, the pair has went on many trips together, where they often display PDA.

Affleck got a chance to share how he feels about Lopez’s impact on the world in her profile for AdWeek. He took the chance to praise her for being a positive representation for women of color.
“All I can tell you is that I have seen firsthand the difference representation makes because I have seen, over and over and over and over, women of color approach Jennifer and tell her what her example as a strong woman and a woman succeeding and demanding her fair share in the business world means to them,” he said.
Affleck added, “I am in awe of what Jennifer’s effect on the world is. At most, as an artist, I can make movies that move people. Jennifer has inspired a massive group of people to feel they have a seat at the table in this country. That is an effect few people throughout history have had, one I will never know and one I can only stand by and admire with respect.”

Back in January 2021—before the couple got back together—Affleck acknowledged that Lopez had a difficult time in the media because of her identity as a Latina woman.
“People were so f—king mean about her — sexist, racist,” he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Ugly, vicious shit was written about her in ways that if you wrote it now you would literally be fired for saying those things you said.”
Affleck noted that Lopez’s coverage is more positive these days. He said, “Now it’s like, she’s lionized and respected for the work she did, where she came from, what she accomplished — as well she f—king should be!”
