Beth Behrs from ‘The Neighborhood’ Welcomed a New Baby – And ‘Big Sister’ Isn’t Thrilled
Beth Behrs from CBS‘s The Neighborhood announced she and her husband Michael Gladis became parents. Behrs shared on Instagram that they welcomed baby Emma George Gladis and couldn’t be happier.
Behrs shared a black and white photo of a tiny hand, resting in her parents larger hands. Friends and fans gushed over the announcement on Instagram, including Behrs’s close friend, new Tony award winner Matt Doyle. Behrs spent Sunday night glued to her TV as she watched Doyle take home his first Tony.
And while everyone was happy for the family, one family member was still getting used to the new addition.
Beth Behrs’s first baby isn’t sure about her new little sister
After Behrs shared that the family welcomed a new baby, she also posted a video showing pup Betty’s reaction. Betty wore a pink “big sister” t-shirt and Behrs couldn’t help but capture the confused look on Betty’s face. “Betty … you’re a big sister, are you excited?” Behrs asked the dog in an Instagram video.
She captioned the video, “Someone isn’t as thrilled as we are …” Behrs is going to have to win over more than Betty. As a huge animal lover, Behrs has a whole menagerie of animals so baby Emma has a whole slew of furry friends to meet.
Beth Behrs named her baby daughter after her sister
Behrs shared on her Instagram story that she named her baby after her sister. “One of the happiest days of my life – becoming Emma’s auntie and seeing my sister become an amazing mama!” Emily Behrs posted, which was shared on the story. Behrs shared the post along with, “Named after the best Emmy I know!”
She also shared a photo of the books she plans to read to baby Emma. “Starting my daughter with my favorite pasttime young …” Included in the book lineup are “Little Women,” “Heidi” and “Anne of Green Gables.”
She was home with baby when close friend Matt Doyle took home the Tony
Doyle accepted his first Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Musical playing Jaime in Company. Behrs shared a video crying happy tears while watching the announcment – hours before sharing the news that she and Gladis became parents.
“He did it!!!” Behrs captioned the Instagram vide showing her crying in front of her TV. “He really did it! I even got a shout out!!! I love you so much @thetonyawards WINNER @mattfdoyle [crying emojis] wow. Just wow!”
Doyle did give Behrs a shout out and credited her for being one of his teachers. “Thank you to my earliest teachers, Meryl, and Judy, Brit, Eric, Richard, Beth,” he said (via Broadway World).
He added, “Thank you to my family, my sisters Leah and Colleen. And my parents who believed in me pursuing my passion and believed in the arts. And believed that the only way I would be happy was to live my life authentically. Thank you so much to George Furth and to Stephen Sondheim. Stephen, thank you for allowing your work to evolve and for more people to be seen in your genius. I’m the next bride!”
