Bethenny Frankel quit ‘RHONY’ to start other projects
The businesswoman announced that she was leaving reality TV again. Her announcement included her plans for the future.
“I have decided to leave the Housewives franchise to explore my next chapter. It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women,” claimed the statement, according to Variety.
“With the changes in modern culture, I want to highlight the strength, confidence and unstoppable power that women have. My experience at Bravo has been an incredibly magical ride,” she added. “I am so grateful to them for highlighting my entrepreneurialism and allowing me to pave the way for many women to achieve their goals. I am excited for my future. The best is yet to come.”
Her new show is ‘The Big Shot With Bethenny Frankel’
Frankel will already be back with a new show called, The Big Shot With Bethenny Frankel. It will be on HBO Max.
The docuseries will be eight episodes following people competing against each other to be on Frankel’s executive team. They will be tested through different challenges to get the ultimate prize.
“I first met Bethenny when I put her on the first season of The Real Housewives of New York City and she’s always both impressed and entertained me,” Jennifer O’Connell, executive vice president of original non-fiction and kids programming, HBO Max, said according to Deadline. “It’s incredible to see her empire continue to grow and I know that candidates will be clamoring to work for her.”
She didn’t leave because of money
The former reality star has addressed one rumor about her exit from RHONY. Frankel said she didn’t walk away because of money.
“Everyone thinks I left because of money. I wasn’t leaving because of money,” she told Variety. “I wasn’t leaving because of money, I was staying because of money. It no longer became this platform to promote my business, because I had done that, and there was more promoting sort of new and questionable businesses than the legitimate ones at this point, if that makes any sense.”
Frankel later said, “It was really the paycheck, which was, you know, astronomical at that point. And so I was staying because of money. And I just thought to myself, a bartender, a high-class prostitute who’s making a lot of money, you gotta sometimes make a move, and just say, ‘Let me just do what feels right to me.'”
Frankel had a talk show and recently made appearances on Shark Tank. Fans will have to wait and see if her new reality show will be successful.
