Bob Odenkirk grew very close with his fellow Better Call Saul cast members. In fact, he shared a house with two of his costars for several years. During this time Odenkirk found a stray pregnant dog wandering the desert. He brought it home, and the dog ended up giving birth while he was away.

Bob Odenkirk lived with Rhea Seehorn and Patrick Fabian while filming ‘Better Call Saul’

During an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Bob Odenkirk revealed that he shared a home with his Better Call Saul costars Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler) and Patrick Fabian (Howard Hamlin) for three years. “Patrick woke us up in the morning and made us go on a hike and then made dinner every night. He was the activities director,” Odenkirk joked. “Rhea and I were the indulgent actors talking about our parts late into the night.”

While speaking with KTLA5, Odenkirk discussed how sharing the house helped him and his costars stave off loneliness while being away from home so much. “It’s great because otherwise you’re just learning your lines and working out and saying your lines and then working out,” Odenkirk said. He also relayed the story of rescuing a pregnant dog.

Odenkirk brought home a pregnant dog… and Seehorn ended up delivering the puppies

Rhea Seehorn told her side of the story of Odenkirk bringing home a pregnant dog during her time on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. While filming, Odenkirk texted Seehorn pictures of the dog he had found, though he assured her that he wouldn’t bring it home. “Then he arrives with the dog. I knew that was happening,” Seehorn said. “I knew it!”

The vet had informed Odenkirk that the dog was pregnant with two puppies. Bob Odenkirk assured his Better Call Saul co-star that he had a plan with several of the crew members for when the dog went into labor. “Bob says, ‘There’s only one Saturday where we all have to leave town and I watched them pull out of the driveway and I was like, ‘She’s clearly having the babies today,'” Seehorn recalled.

Within a couple of hours, the dog had given birth to eight puppies. Seehorn called Odenkirk in a panic and was left scrambling to make sure the delivery went well. Luckily everything turned out fine, and according to Odenkirk, they found good homes for all eight puppies.
