They kept the details of their affair private, but finally announced to the public that they were an official couple in 2004.

On Blue Ivy’s first birthday, Beyoncé and Jay-Z demonstrated exactly how lucky their kids are with an outrageously expensive gift for the toddler. According to the Daily Mail, Blue Ivy was given a diamond encrusted Barbie doll worth around $80,000. The doll was specially customized and included 160 diamond gems as well as white gold jewelry.
Considering that most Barbies end up headless and lost under the bed, that’s a lot of money to spend. We hope it came with special storage case to maintain its quality. But then, will Blue Ivy even be able to play with it?
In addition to her extravagant doll, Blue Ivy was also thrown an elaborate princess-themed birthday bash, which was decorated with thousands of dollars worth of pink and white roses. That’s a lot of expensive for an event that the child probably won’t even remember.
