The pair could have been dating long before this — although they’ve both denied it — but they finally stepped out in public as an official couple at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards.

In 2005, rumors that Jay-Z was cheating on his superstar girlfriend with another famous and beautiful musician, Rihanna, started making their way through the tabloids. Fans everywhere were shocked when they found out that Jay-Z spent an unbelievable $8 million on the wedding flowers alone. Apparently, Beyoncé had 70,000 of her favorite flower, white dendrobium orchids, flown in for the wedding all the way from Thailand, which explains the cost.
We can’t imagine what Jay-Z’s penthouse must have looked like surrounded by thousands and thousands of orchids. Even though it was intimate, the wedding sure doesn’t sound like it was lacking in style.
