Beyoncé Says She’s Really Bad at Doing This Household Chore
It seems like Beyoncé can’t do it all. Though she may be a master at singing, dancing, and acting, there’s one thing that the singer isn’t skilled in, and it’s a task many people do daily. Can you guess what it is? Read on below to find out.
Beyoncé claims she’s not the best cook
Though Beyoncé is very skilled at entertaining audiences around the world, that’s not really the case in the kitchen.
During a 2006 interview with Cosmopolitan, the singer admitted that she’s not the best cook and even said that whipping up a homecooked meal isn’t something she does often.
“I don’t cook much,” she said. “But I’m good at spaghetti and sandwiches. I know they’re easy, but they’re my specialty.”
Even Bey’s mom, Tina Knowles-Lawson, has said she’s not the best chef in the world.
“Beyoncé can’t cook,” Knowles-Lawson told Us Weekly and reporters at the National CARES Mentoring Movement For the Love of Our Children Gala in 2019. However, the House of Deréon designer did admit that daughter Solange Knowles knows her way around the kitchen, adding, “There’s no contest!”
But despite Beyoncé not being the best cook, there’s one thing she is good at doing in the kitchen, and that’s tasting the food that’s prepared for her. “I’m a really good taste-tester,” Beyoncé jokingly told the New York Times in 2015.
Bey spends thousands of dollars on a live-in chef
Even though Beyoncé can’t cook, she still indulges in wholesome meals each day thanks to her live-in chef.
According to All Hip Hop, Bey reportedly dishes out $7,500 a month for her personal chef, who cooks most of her meals. She is also reported to have a dietician who gets paid a maximum of $4,000 a month (the fee varies depending upon diet changes).
Although she and husband Jay-Z have been indulging in organic, plant-based, gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free meals, the couple still seems to be eating pretty well.
Beyoncé has tried learning how to cook
Despite having a live-in chef who can cook anything she wants, Beyoncé still tries to learn her way around the kitchen whenever she has some downtime.
In fact, the singer previously admitted that she whipped up a few dishes while taking a break from work in 2011. She even revealed that she’s mastered a few creations with only one ingredient.
“I took a year off and I even did some cooking, although I didn’t really enjoy that,” she previously shared with Cosmopolitan (via Capital FM). “I’m not the greatest cook – I can do things with oxtail, though.”
Though she doesn’t consider herself the best cook, Beyoncé has proven that she’s highly skilled in areas others aren’t. From busting out incredible dance numbers onstage to wowing fans with her amazing vocals, Beyoncé’s ability to entertain is out of this world.
While cooking might not be something she’s good at, being a show-stopping performer is one thing Bey excels in.
