Self-care is truly important. For years, women, in particular, have been taught to soldier on despite any mental or physical ailments that they might be experiencing. However, we’ve all learned that pouring out of an empty cup can be extremely detrimental.

For years, there has been a meme circling — reminding us all that we have the same 24 hours in a day that Beyoncé has. However, the biggest entertainer in the world also needs some time to rest and relax.

You might be surprised to know how normal The Gift songstress’ self-care routine is.

Beyoncé has struggled to find balance

Like many of us juggling our personal and professional lives — the Lemonade singer has also found it challenging to find balance. Apparently there is no magic balm to fix this –even when you’re a massive pop star.

“I think the most stressful thing for me is balancing work and life,” Beyoncé told Elle Magazine. “Making sure I am present for my kids—dropping Blue off at school, taking Rumi and Sir to their activities, making time for date nights with my husband, and being home in time to have dinner with my family—all while running a company can be challenging. Juggling all of those roles can be stressful, but I think that’s life for any working mom.”

Sometimes even one of the most recognizable women in the world needs some time to recenter and regroup.

Beyoncé knows the difference between success and fame

Fame sounds like a terrible plight — especially in the social media age. However, despite her mega fame and success — the Destiny’s Child alum has managed to keep her personal life as insulated as possible, which has certainly helped with her mental health and privacy.

“The predictable rock star DNA is a myth,” she revealed to Elle. “I believe you don’t have to accept dysfunction to be successful. This is not to say that I have not struggled. I have the same pain that life brings to everyone else. I try to shift the stigma that says with fame there has to be drama. It is how you relate to your hardships and use that to evolve. And I try to keep real ones around me.”

Inside Beyoncé’s self-care routine

Since she spends a great deal of her life getting pampered and glammed for events and shows –Beyoncé’s self-care routine is about her physical health. It involves exercising and taking care of her body through holistic treatments. Like many of us, the mother-of-three had to learn self-care. It’s something she really didn’t start doing until after she had her twins Sir and Rumi in 2017.

“Many of us grew up seeing our parents act as if they were superheroes,” Beyoncé reflected. “Most women have been conditioned to ignore symptoms and just “tough it out” and focus on taking care of everyone else before themselves. I am no longer one of those people. After having a difficult pregnancy, I took a year to focus on my health. I have researched information on homeopathic medicines. I don’t just put any prescription in my body. My diet is important, and I use tools like acupuncture, meditation, visualization, and breathing exercises.”
