Beyoncé Surprised Andra Day With a Sweet Gift Following of Her Golden Globes Win
Not many people can say they’ve received a gift from the Queen Bey herself, Beyoncé. But singer-turned-actor Andra Day can now say she has.
Following her Golden Globes win on Feb. 28, the “Rise Up” hitmaker was surprised with a sweet gift from pop superstar — and her response to it was one many of us would have if we were in her shoes.

To say Day’s 2021 Golden Globes night was unforgettable would be an understatement.
The night kicked off with the singer winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress In A Drama for her portrayal of Billie Holiday in the film The United States vs. Billie Holiday.
“I would just want to say thank you so much to God, Christ, my faithful and true with no shame. Thank you so much for bringing me through and getting me through,” Day said during her acceptance speech. “I can’t believe I’m in the presence of giants with Viola Davis, Frances McDormand, Vanessa Kirby, and Carey Mulligan, you inspire me so much. And to the amazing transformative, dynamic Billie Holliday, who just transformed me with this role, her spirit. I love you all so much.”
Thanks to her win, Day became the first Black woman to take home the award since Whoopi Goldberg won the trophy 35 years ago for her role in The Color Purple.
Following her historic win, Day was surprised by none other than actor Regina King, who congratulated the singer during an exclusive interview with Access.
After the two hugged it out, King was asked how proud she is of the now award-winning actor, to which she responded with, “Oh my god. Are you kidding me?”
Though receiving best wishes from King was clearly a highlight for Day that night, the multi-hyphenate actor wasn’t the only celebrity who congratulated the singer on her iconic win.

Following her Golden Globes win, Day received another unexpected surprise — but this presentation rendered her speechless.
On Mar. 3, the singer took to Instagram to share a photo of a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a card from the one and only Beyoncé. “You make us all so proud,” the “Bigger” singer wrote. “A huge congratulations!”
Naturally, Day fangirled over the thoughtful gift and was so surprised that her response to the present was wordless.
In the caption of the post, she wrote “!!!!!!” along with several emojis that illustrated just how significant the moment was for her. She even shared a gif of Beyoncé saying, “God is real,” which is a pretty spot-on reaction to anything that comes from the Queen Bey.
