Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ recent controversies and allegations have not only put his reputation at risk, but his associates’ as well. Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z have now been dragged into these scandals thanks to attorney Tony Buzbee. The Cowboy Carter singer was allegedly warned this would happen months ago, and was given harsh advice to perhaps save herself some drama.

After Diddy’s arrest, a roster of alleged victims came forward to accuse the music mogul of various crimes including abuse and sexual assault. A few of these accusers are represented by Buzbee, who claimed not too long ago that the trail didn’t end with Diddy. He alleged that there were other celebrities who not only witnessed Diddy’s alleged crimes, but participated in them as well. In October, he asserted that he was in the process of sending out letters to many potential A-listers that demanded they pay for their crimes. If they didn’t, their names would be revealed and they’d be taken to court publicly.
“A lot of people allowed it to go on. Said nothing, didn’t intervene. Maybe benefited from it, profited from it. All of these individuals and entities, in my view, have exposure, here,” Buzbee told TMZ.
Buzbee kept his word with Jay-Z, who’s been linked to a sexual assault case by the Houston attorney and his client. The Brooklyn emcee vehemently denied the allegations. And unlike with Diddy, Jay-Z has gathered considerable support who believe the attorney is just trying to extort him. Still, an insider claimed that Beyoncé was told this would happen around the same time Buzbee gave celebs his warning. The insider further alleged that despite everything they’d been through, the Diddy controversy might’ve been the thing that cost the Carter couple their marriage.
“Jay and Beyoncé have been able to keep their marriage together – despite his admitted infidelities and shady friendships,” the source told Radar Online. “They’ve kept an uneasy peace for the sake of their three kids and their careers – but this is becoming a bridge too far!”
The source theorized that this was why the couple already took preemptive measures to protect themselves from any potential lawsuits from the Diddy fallout. Jay-Z was rumored to have assembled a strong legal team just in case. Additionally, the Carters were quick to address and delegitimize any gossip that tied them to Diddy’s crimes. It wasn’t too long ago that the two sued Piers Morgan for inviting a guest on their show alleging they were just as guilty as Diddy. Morgan even apologized for what was seen as irresponsible journalism at the time.
But Beyoncé’s camp didn’t think that was enough to save her reputation. They felt there was only way for the Destiny’s Child alum to truly spare herself if her husband was ever targeted.
“Beyoncé is terrified Jay is going to be exposed as being complicit in – or at least knowledgeable of – Diddy’s dirty deeds,” the insider said. “She has friends saying she should not only distance herself from Jay but leave him altogether if things get too hot.”

Apart from her personal life, it was suspected that Diddy’s problems were already becoming Beyoncé’s. At least in terms of her career. Not too long ago, she released her first country-inspired album, Cowboy Carter, on March 29, 2024. It was noted that the record had a lot of promotion backing it up to and during its debut. It was a success by every metric. Cowboy Carter debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 400,000 units. But as time passed, sources within the industry noticed that the album’s momentum started fading a bit too quickly. And the Carters were fading along with it if one insider was to be believed.
“This was supposed to be Beyoncé’s time, with her much-anticipated country album out just two months ago. And yet, she is nowhere to be seen. The album is slipping, and Jay and B aren’t reveling in the spotlight,” the insider said according to Page Six.
The source also brought up Jay-Z’s passionate speech at the Grammys not too long. There, he admonished the ceremony about his wife never winning an album of the year award. The source alleged this made Jay-Z’s sudden silence even more suspicious. Cowboy Carter might’ve been Beyoncé best chance in a while at winning the music industry’s highest coveted prize.
“But now what? Does he think she will win… for Cowboy Carter with no promotion, no appearances, and no wooing of the academy?” the insider asked.
This source’s concern added to speculation that the pair decided to go dark because of Diddy’s scandals. Which the source felt was a shame, since her career was reaching a new peak in 2024.
“Something is going on. It came out with a bang. No. 1 everywhere. [Now] it and she have disappeared,” the source said.
