Beyoncé Wanted to Put on a ‘United Front’ With Jay-Z at ‘Mufasa’ Premiere, Source Says
Jay-Z is officially in the thick of the Sean “Diddy” Combs case. A woman came forward and alleged that Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, raped her when she was 13 years old. According to the plaintiff, Combs also assaulted her, and another woman was present. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Jay-Z stepped out for the premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King amid the allegations. Here’s what a source said about Beyoncé hoping to put up a “united front” to the public.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z attended the ‘Mufasa’ premiere amid the allegations against Jay-Z
Jay-Z denied the serious allegations against him in December 2024. After the media caught wind of the allegations against the rapper, he publicly stated that he believed he was being blackmailed. Additionally, he said his heart breaks for his family — Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and their three children.
“My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people,” Jay-Z stated. “I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age.”
Despite the firestorm surrounding the famous couple, they stepped out for the Mufasa: The Lion King premiere on Dec. 9, 2024, with their daughter, Blue Ivy, 12. Blue Ivy stars in the film as the voice of Kiara. Beyoncé voices Kiara’s mother, Nala.
“There was hesitation on the Disney side regarding the best way to handle it given the events from [the lawsuit],” a source told The U.S. Sun. “At the end of the day, it was Beyoncé’s call. They allowed her to decide how she thought was best to handle the situation; that’s how much Disney trusts and values her. And the way she wanted to handle it was to smile, put on a united front standing by her man, but also celebrate her daughter.”
The insider added that the couple wanted to “keep the mood light” and make the night “Blue’s moment.” While they initially intended to do press interviews, they decided not to after the allegations.
“Jay-Z and Beyoncé kept smiling throughout anyone who heckled, but Blue Ivy looked noticeably scared and honestly very sad — but braved through it to get photos of the family on the carpet,” the source continued.
50 Cent trolled Jay-Z over the allegations
50 Cent, real name Curtis James Jackson III, spoke out about Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest. And he’s now trolling Jay-Z over the allegations against the rapper. According to the New York Post, 50 Cent posted a photo to Instagram of Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and Blue Ivy at the Mufasa premiere. He added the caption, “Jay said they said I rapped [sic] a kid, everybody get dressed we going to see Mufasa LOL.” The rapper later deleted the post.
50 Cent also shared an AI video showing Combs and Jay-Z getting arrested. “I want to post this but I’m afraid I’m gonna get shot. LOL,” he captioned the now-deleted post, according to Fox News Digital.
Beyoncé is allegedly ’embarrassed’ and ‘devastated’ by the allegations
Beyoncé hasn’t made any public statements regarding the allegations against Jay-Z. However, a source told DailyMail.com that she feels “embarrassed” and “devastated” by the news.
“Beyoncé is embarrassed, devastated, and horrified with the allegations against her husband,” the insider noted. “He is in no way a saint and has cheated on Beyoncé in the past, and she hoped that was the worst they would have to go through.”
The source noted that Jay-Z allegedly doesn’t live at home with Beyoncé and their kids currently. He is “living elsewhere so he can work on his case without interrupting the kids’ routine.”
