Beyoncé has been a force to behold since her childhood. Under the tutelage of her father and former manager, Matthew Knowles, the legendary superstar came to recognition in the iconic girl group Destiny’s Child. Using that success and momentum, the songstress paralleled that success into a successful solo career with her debut 2003 album. Dangerously In Love.

Since then, nothing has been the same. From her iconic albums like self-titled and Lemonade, the singer has slowly given us intimate glimpse into her personal and family life. The songstress has been married to rapper Jay-Z since 2008. The pair have three gorgeous children, Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir. They’ve also given us glimpses into the ups and downs of their relationship in their respective albums, Lemonade and 4:44 as well as their joint album, Everything Is Love.

Still, Beyoncé has been vocal about how much she values her privacy. Though she is one of the most visible people on the planet, she manages to keep her private moments to herself. Still, the songstress has given us a glimpse into her insane work process.

Beyoncé has had to learn to balance her personal and professional life

Though we’ve been shown some inside details about Beyoncé’s personal life through Netflix’s Homecoming and certain Instagram posts, the songstress only makes the work public. In fact, she’s worked diligently to try and balance being a global entertainment, wife, and mother.

“I think the most stressful thing for me is balancing work and life,” she told Elle Magazine. “Making sure I am present for my kids—dropping Blue off at school, taking Rumi and Sir to their activities, making time for date nights with my husband, and being home in time to have dinner with my family—all while running a company can be challenging. Juggling all of those roles can be stressful, but I think that’s life for any working mom.”

In Homecoming, the “Love On Top” singer acknowledged that she could no longer spend 15 hours rehearsing because she needed to spend quality time with her family.

Beyoncé makes all of the final decisions about her career

Though Beyoncé’s father laid the foundation for her career, in 2010, she decided it was time to strike out on her own. As a result, she formed Parkwood Entertainment which is an umbrella for all of the Houston-born singer’s music, movies, videos, and fashion endeavors, including her latest collab, IVY PARK x Adidas.

For Beyoncé forming Parkwood was about trusting herself and her instincts. “When I decided to manage myself it was important that I didn’t go to some big management company,” she explained to Billboard in 2013. “I felt like I wanted to follow the footsteps of Madonna and be a powerhouse and have my own empire and show other women when you get to this point in your career you don’t have to go sign with someone else and share your money and your success—you do it yourself.”

Inside Beyoncé’s insane work process

You don’t become a powerhouse performer overnight. One thing that Beyoncé has over a ton of other artists is in an insane work ethic and a willingness to work until it’s perfect.

However, the first thing Beyoncé does each time she begins a project is to pray. “With new projects, I get my team together for a prayer,” she explained to Elle Magazine. “I make sure we are all clear on the intention and what the deeper meaning is. I do my best, and I try to push everyone around me to do the same. I eventually give everything I have. When it’s released to the world, I let it go because it is no longer mine.”
