Here’s what a source claimed about Beyoncé’s “rules” for Jay-Z after the cheating scandal.
Jay-Z allegedly respects Beyoncé’s ‘rules’ after his infidelity
Beyoncé and Jay-Z didn’t give up on their marriage following Jay-Z’s affair. Rumors of the rapper’s infidelity started when Solange Knowles attacked him in an elevator with Beyoncé present in 2014. A few months later, publications released alleged divorce plans between the couple. Beyoncé then referenced “Becky with the good hair” in her song, “Sorry,” off the 2016 album Lemonade, prompting further speculation. Finally, in 2017, Jay-Z confirmed he cheated on his wife on the title track of 4:44. He then talked about the situation publicly that same year.
An insider told In Touch Weekly in April 2024 that Beyoncé now has “rules” for Jay-Z following the cheating scandal.
“Jay’s ultimately very grateful that she didn’t give up on him back in the day,” the insider alleged, “so, he shows his respect by following her rules. He used to go out with the boys all the time, but that’s off-limits. And Beyoncé doesn’t like him having one-on-ones with his female talent.”
Another source told HollywoodLife in 2016 that Beyoncé remains suspicious of her husband’s relationship with Rihanna. “Rihanna is a person she’s suspicious of, there have been so many rumors over the years about her and Jay it’s hard to know what to believe,” the source alleged. “At this point, Beyoncé keeps a very close eye on Jay and Rihanna, but he’s not banned from working with her, not yet at least.”
Jay-Z opened up about going to therapy
The source who spoke to In Touch Weekly said Jay-Z and Beyoncé go to therapy and prioritize date nights to reconnect as a couple. “They work hard at making their marriage work, and they’re in a healthier place since Beyoncé put her foot down,” the insider continued.
After the cheating scandal, Jay-Z discussed repairing his marriage on David Letterman’s show, My Guest Needs No Introduction. “Much like you, I have a beautiful wife who was understanding and who knew I’m not the worst of what I’ve done,” Jay-Z said. “We did the hard work of going to therapy. We love each other. So, we really put in the work for years.”
Letterman also opened up to Jay-Z about his extramarital affairs.
“Like you, I like to believe we’re in a better place today,” Jay-Z told the host. “I’m proud of the father and the husband that I am today because of all the work that was done.”

In late 2024 into early 2025, Jay-Z is facing serious allegations. A lawsuit against him alleges he raped a 13-year-old in 2000 with Sean “Diddy” Combs. Jay-Z vehemently denies the lawsuit’s claims. A source told Us Weekly that “Beyoncé does not believe a word of what they’re saying” and continues to focus on herself.
“She is moving forward with her life; she is still committed to her scheduled performance in two weeks and will be there for her family as much as she can,” a source noted, referring to her Cowboy Carter Christmas special and halftime show in December 2024. “She won’t let this bring her image down.”
