Bianca Censori Would Have ‘Rather Worn a Pretty Dress’ to the Grammys Than Perform Stunt, Source Says
Grammy Awards viewers continue to discuss Kanye West and Bianca Censori’s red-carpet stunt. The couple posed in front of photographers before Censori dropped her black fur coat and revealed her “invisible dress” that showed her nude body. Now, a source says Censori didn’t want to cause a stir and would have rather showed up to the prestigious event in a “pretty dress.”
Bianca Censori would have ‘enjoyed the evening’ in a ‘pretty dress,’ an insider alleged
All eyes were on Kanye West and Bianca Censori at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. The couple entered wearing black and posed on the red carpet to prepare for their big reveal. After spending a few moments talking closely with each other, Censori stood with her back to the photographers and dropped her fur coat to reveal her naked body beneath a sheer mini dress. The couple exited the Grammys soon after and danced and sang at an afterparty later that evening.
Viewers watching the event were unclear whether Censori wanted to go through with the stunt. An insider who allegedly spoke to West and Censori told the New York Post that if it were up to Censori, “she would have much rather worn a pretty dress.”
“She would have enjoyed the evening a lot more,” the source continued.
The insider added that Censori felt “really nervous” about appearing nude at the Grammys and “wanted to back out several times.” However, West pushed her into the idea.
“She was really nervous and wanted to back out several times, but he didn’t want her to,” the source said. “When Ye gets something in his head, there’s no talking him out of it. But make no mistake, this was totally him and not her.”
The source noted that some people “literally have nightmares” about appearing naked in public spaces. “This is literally what people have nightmares about, and she did it on purpose,” they said. “But she wouldn’t have done it without Ye.”
A lip reader said Kanye West told Bianca Censori to ‘make a scene’
Kanye West appeared to instruct Bianca Censori while on the red carpet at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
“You’re making a scene now,” West told Censori, according to Nicola Hickling, the founder and lead analyst at LipReader, according to DailyMail.com. She nodded in response. “Make a scene; I’ll say it’ll make so much sense.”
“Drop it behind you and then turn; I got you,” West reassured.
“Alright let’s go,” Censori uttered, followed by dropping the coat.
Later, West took to Instagram to boast about his wife being the “most Googled person on Earth.”
“For clarity, Feb. 4, 2025, my wife is the most Googled person on the planet called Earth,” West said on his Instagram Stories following a series of other posts about the incident.
The Grammy Award’s executive producer spoke out about the incident
Raj Kapoor, the executive producer behind the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, told People that those invited to the ceremony are instructed to wear “artistic black tie.” He then acknowledged “in the music industry, I guess that’s up for interpretation.”
Kapoor didn’t have a straight answer regarding whether Kanye West and Bianca Censori crossed the line with Censori’s nude stunt.
“Obviously there is a dress code for anybody actually performing on the show that we have to adhere to standards and practices,” he said. “But as far as people attending and nominees attending, that would be something the [Recording] Academy [presents the Grammys] would have to answer.”
The Grammys were held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Censori may have violated city and state public indecency laws after “intentionally” exposing her “genitals or naked body in front of someone who could be offended or annoyed.”
