Before Big Brother 22 premiered, drama already circulated the season because many viewers believed Nicole Franzel “snitched” on former winners Derrick Levasseur and Dan Gheesling for making pre-game alliances. While some didn’t believe the rumors, fans overtook Big Brother Twitter and Reddit with memes of the situation because they found it funny. However, the reports began picking up steam when Levasseur admitted he wasn’t happy with Franzel. Even though the television host has repeatedly denied the rumors, Janelle Pierzina confirmed them from within the BB house.

Nicole Franzel allegedly got Derrick Levasseur removed from ‘BB22’

Shortly after CBS announced the highly anticipated All-Stars season, a YouTuber claimed Big Brother 18 winner Nicole Franzel had a hand in getting legendary players Dan Gheesling and Derrick Levasseur removed from the cast.

According to the poster, who claims he received his intel from other Big Brother competitors, the BB18 champ did not get a call to return for the 22nd season.

Therefore, she acted as a “spy” and pretended she did get invited back to get into a group chat, reportedly organized by Gheesling and Levasseur, in which potential returnees allegedly made pre-game alliances.

The YouTuber explained Franzel reported the information back to the production crew, which supposedly resulted in Gheesling and Levasseur’s removal from the All-Star cast.

Many fans originally didn’t believe the rumors because pre-gaming is common in seasons with veteran players, but Levasseur’s initial response made it seem like the reports were true.

Derrick Levasseur responded to the rumors

The Breaking Homicide host quote tweeted the video and admitted he’s “not happy with Nicole right now.” However, he denied any participation in a group chat. Levasseur followed it up with another tweet where he asked the BB fandom not to “blame her.”

A couple of days later, the season 16 winner broadcasted live on Instagram and apologized to his former co-star. He admitted he was “wrong” to express his current feelings toward Franzel attached to the video, but didn’t go into detail about why they were on bad terms.

Additionally, the television host reiterated that the BB18 winner had nothing to do with his choice not to return. According to Levasseur, he rejected the invitation because his daughter asked him not to leave, and due to the ongoing pandemic.

Gheesling also denied the rumors and cited family and safety reasons for him not returning.

Janelle Pierzina confirmed the rumors during ‘BB22’

Early in the morning on Day 3 in Big Brother 22, Janelle Pierzina and Nicole Anthony spoke about the absence of the legendary players. The four-time competitor claimed she received a call from Gheesling shortly before going into sequester, where he told her that Franzel “got Derrick out of the game.”

Pierzina said she didn’t know exactly what the BB18 champ did or how. However, she insisted that the Breaking Homicide host intended to compete in the All-Star season, but Franzel “did something” to get him removed.

The real estate agent claimed the two were also “super upset” with not being able to compete. Confused, Anthony wondered why the BB16 winner would do that, and Pierzina speculated that it might have something to do with Cody Calafiore.

Outside of the house, Levasseur still sticks to his story that Franzel did not get him removed from the cast. Big Brother 22: All-Stars airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on CBS.
