Blindsided in the first unanimous vote of Big Brother 23, Brent Champagne blogged about his experiences in the house and thoughts on the current season shortly following his exit. In an excerpt, he boldly claimed he thought Kings’ captain Christian Birkenberger “deserves to win” BB23 and detailed why.

Brent Champagne blindsided during ‘Big Brother 23’ Week 3

Wanting to target “meatheads,” the first Head of Household, Brandon “Frenchie” French, initially wanted to go after Brent Champagne.

However, after the two had a deep conversation, his target shifted a couple of times before settling on Travis Long, who became the season’s first evicted houseguest. Brent associated himself closely with Frenchie, but nearly everyone turned on the former HOH the following week due to his chaotic reign.

The flight attendant then became the house target as his perceived arrogance and flirtatious behavior began rubbing others the wrong way.

Even though he knew Xavier Prather didn’t nominate him as a pawn, Brent confidently thought the alliances he formed with other teams would protect him. However, no one did, and he became the first unanimous eviction of the season in a classic blindside.

Christian Birkenberger has the most competition wins

The 23-year-old won the Kickoff Competition immediately after entering the house, allowing him to pick the rest of his Kings’ teammates. Correctly sensing that Christian would become a target of Frenchie’s, teammate Sarah Beth Steagall encouraged him to play in the Wildcard, which he won.

During Week 3, he dominated the Power of Veto competition, securing the nominations and Brent’s blindside, and then became the HOH the following week. Even though his team, namely Sarah Beth, helped him win the competition, it’s another victory that goes under his belt.

Currently the biggest physical threat of the season, Derek Xiao is the closest behind him with two POV wins. Therefore, Christian could physically dominate his way to the final two seats, similar to the BB21 winner, Jackson Michie.

Kings’ teammate Xavier might rival him based on his appearance, but the former HOH hasn’t tried yet, seemingly attempting to keep his threat level low.

Brent thinks Christian ‘deserves’ to win the game

Following his eviction, Brent wrote about his experience in a blog that also included reflections from other former players, including BB22 champ Cody Calafiore and the first boot, Travis.

When asked who he thought would win the season, Brent named Christian, noting he would have targeted him and Xavier if he stayed in the house. He detailed his plan, claiming he would have nominated them outright instead of backdooring them.

He went on to acknowledge Christian’s impressive “BB resume” filled with clutch competition wins, calling him a “force to be reckoned with.” The evicted player boldly claimed the 23-year-old “deserves to win,” pointing out he successfully avoided the block during Week 1 and has a “strong” social game that matches his dominant competition play.

Therefore, Brent thinks the current HOH should receive the title and $750,000 grand prize. Will he? Big Brother 23 airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on CBS.
