[SPOILER ALERT: Spoilers ahead for Big Brother 23 evicted houseguests during the first double eviction.]

After initially believing she had another week of safety when her best friend in the house, Tiffany Mitchell, won Head of Household, Claire Rehfuss had her bubble burst when the HOH backdoored her. However, she continued to fight until the last moment as she called out Xavier Prather in her eviction speech. She also thought about closing it by comparing Alyssa Lopez to BB21 runner-up Holly Allen before deciding against it.

Tiffany Mitchell had to backdoor Claire Rehfuss

Knowing The Cookout planned to target Claire Rehfuss next, Tiffany Mitchell won the Head of Household competition, hoping to save her “person” for another week.

She targeted the only other option outside her alliance, Alyssa Lopez, nominating her alongside Xavier Prather. However, Alyssa won Power of Veto, thwarting Tiffany’s plans, as it forced her to turn on her best friend.

The HOH warned her ahead of time in an emotional conversation, admitting she made a promise that she wouldn’t seal the fate of a Black houseguest. Claire continued to fight and aggressively campaigned, attempting to stay in the house.

However, it became clear she might not have the votes and thought about exposing threatening players on her way out.

Claire wanted to blow up Xavier Prather and Alyssa Lopez’s game in her eviction speech

The night before eviction day, Claire spoke to Kyland Young about securing his vote. He refused to give her a straight answer, leading the houseguest to believe she didn’t have a chance to stay. Therefore, she talked to Tiffany about blowing up strong duo Xavier and Alyssa in her eviction speech.

Following jury member Derek Xiao’s lead, who compared Sarah Beth Steagall to BB18 winner Nicole Franzel, she wanted to call out Alyssa for playing a game similar to BB21 runner-up Holly Allen. As Holly was in a showmance with a strong physical competitor and eventual winner Jackson Michie, many fans perceived her as someone he carried to the end.

She planned to point out the similarities between the two and strong guys willing to take Alyssa to the end, hoping others would target them. Additionally, she wanted to expose Xavier’s protected spot in the house and the likelihood of him winning, no matter who he sat next to at the end.

Although she threw Xavier under the bus during her eviction speech, Claire decided against including the Holly comparison, much to the dismay of many fans who noted they would have enjoyed it.

Holly responds to Claire’s planned call-out

Even though she chose not to mention “another famous female” in the house, mainly because Alyssa feared the comparison, Holly caught wind and reacted to it on social media.

As articles regarding Claire’s potential speech were published, they came across Holly’s radar, seemingly offending her. Likely a direct response, the BB21 runner-up posted a selfie with the caption, “Go on TV and talk about me and think it doesn’t show up in my Google alerts,” including a kissy face emoji.

Some fans sided with Holly and thought Claire made a “weird comparison” as Alyssa uses Xavier as a “shield” and not in a showmance with him. However, others believe Holly “secretly enjoys the drama.”

The BB21 runner-up has previously spoken about her experience on the show and doesn’t like the sentiment that Jackson carried to her end as she claims she did more behind the scenes that weren’t included in her Diary Room sessions. Big Brother 23 airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8/7 Central on CBS.
