Kyland Young had a heated moment with Xavier Prather upon eviction

After making the final six, Kyland Young took the first shot by reneging on his final two with Tiffany Mitchell, siding with Xavier Prather.

The group then went after Hannah Chaddha, and Xavier cemented his spot in the final three by winning the Head of Household competition.

Even though Kyland saved him with the Power of Veto shortly beforehand, Xavier wanted to target him. As they had a deal, Xavier wanted his preferred final two partner, Derek “Big D” Frazier, to do the dirty work.

Therefore, he nominated Azah Awasum, who avoided the block all season, alongside Kyland, deeming the Veto the most important thing. Xavier secured the POV and Kyland’s eviction by convincing Big D to turn on his final two partner. After Big D evicted Kyland, he brought up Xavier’s nephew in a heated moment before joining host Julie Chen Moonves.

His friends and family posted an apology after explosive exit

Before grabbing his bag, Kyland implied Xavier proved himself a bad role model for his nephew, the son of his late brother, by evicting him.

Xavier previously mentioned he intended to use his earnings from the show if he won, a reason Kyland wanted to take him to the end. Xavier got offended, and the host called Kyland’s name several times before he exited the BB house.

Following the episode, his friends and family posted an apology to his Instagram Story. The note said they believed his “emotions” overcame him, causing him to react that way. It continued, “We know that this will be a humbling and enlightening experience for him.”

Kyland’s team also mentioned he is “always willing to learn from his mistakes” and thinks he’ll be proud of the accomplishments made within The Cookout. However, Kyland admitted he didn’t regret his heated exit in an interview with Us Magazine, calling them “objectively true.”

Kyland said he doesn’t regret how he left

According to the newest jury member, he and Xavier previously spoke about the importance of going against another competitor “at their best,” such as their icons, late NBA star Kobe Bryant and Dragon Ball Z’s Goku.

He thought the two connected on that and both “valued” the same things, which is why he “aligned” with him over Tiffany and Hannah. Therefore, the houseguest, who referred to himself as “a very literal person,” called him out upon exiting because he wanted to prove Xavier’s move contradicted that.

“The words that I said aren’t something I regret because objectively, they were true.” He noted. Kyland admitted he purposefully said it to “strike a chord” as he wanted to “have some fun” before leaving.

However, he doesn’t believe he crossed the line “given the context of the conversations that Xavier and I had.” The newest jury member also claimed he didn’t mean to offend Xavier or his family but didn’t apologize in the interview.
