‘Big Brother’: Fessy Shafaat Says He’s ‘Excited’ for Fans to See His Boxing Skills During Pay-Per-View Event
Big Brother and The Challenge star, as well as former collegiate tight end, Fessy Shafaat, agreed to participate in the upcoming boxing pay-per-view event where he is set to face off against BBCanada winner Jon Pardy. The reality star tweeted a video of himself training, noting he’s “excited” for fans to see the fight.
Fessy Shafaat competed on ‘Big Brother’ and ‘The Challenge’
Former collegiate tight end Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat originally appeared on Big Brother 20 as part of the doomed FOUTTE alliance.
Remembered for not knowing what was happening in the house, he spent his time chasing Haleigh Broucher, who initially showed no interest in him, and being manipulated by JC Mounduix, who convinced him to target his own ally during his Head of Household reign.
The Florida native ended up placing ninth, becoming the third member of the jury. Shortly following the season, Shafaat tried his hand at MTV’s long-standing competition series, The Challenge.
As a rookie in Total Madness, he immediately aligned with other BB20 stars and ended three-time champ Jordan Wiseley’s winning streak. After placing fourth in the finals, the reality star returned for Double Agents, seeking his first victory.
‘Big Brother’ US stars are boxing former houseguests from the Canadian franchise
Adaptation Big Brother Canada debuted in 2013, a few months after the BB14 (US) finale. Currently, in its ninth season, many viewers consider the Canadian version the superior franchise.
Therefore, viewers have wanted their favorite houseguests from both to face off to determine the best BB player. Fans will receive their wish but in a different way than intended.
In Feb. 2021, BBCan6 star Ryan Ballantine announced an upcoming pay-per-view boxing event where the US stars would compete against the former Canadian houseguests in the ring.
The match-ups feature Veronica Doherty (BBCan6) vs. Kaycee Clark (BB20 winner), Adam Pike (BBCan7) vs. Josh Martinez (BB19 winner), Hamza Hatoum (BBCan6) vs. Jozea Flores (BB18), Michael Stubley (BBCan8) vs. Nick Maccarone (BB21), Madeline DiNunzio (BBCan8) vs. Angela “Rockstar” Lantry (BB20), Godfrey Mangwiza (BBCan3 runner-up) vs. Enzo “Meow Meow” Palumbo (BB12, 22), and Shafaat will face off against BBCan2 champ and former hockey player, Jon Pardy.
Peter Brown (BBCan1) and Natalie Negrotti (BB18) are set to host with Kevin Martin (BBCan5 winner), Nick Uhas (BB15), and Ballantine as commentators.
Shafaat says he can’t wait for fans to see his boxing skills
Following the announcement, Shafaat posted a video of himself training for the event to Twitter.
He explained that while he’s not a boxer, he considers himself a “dog” and will “go at it for real” without the help of alliances, secret votes, or security to intervene.
The former collegiate football player ended the caption by noting he’s “excited” for everyone to see the event and encouraged his followers to “stay tuned.”
While some fans commented on their excitement, others critiqued his punches. The Big Brother stars are set to face off in the summer of 2021.
