‘Big Sky’ Season 2: 3 More New Cast Members For Second Half Of the Season and How They Fit in the Storyline
Now that Ronald Pergman (Brian Geraghty) and Wolf Legarski (John Carroll Lynch) are dead, Big Sky Season 2 added several new cast members for the remainder of the season. Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) tackles a new case about a dead teen, Mason Ford, in Big Sky Season 2 Episode 14. His parents — Richard and Mona Ford — play a large role in the remainder of the series.
Who plays Richard Ford in ‘Big Sky’?
Although many fans thought John Ritter’s son, Jason Ritter, was Mason’s father, Richard Ford, it was actually actor Dallas Roberts in Big Sky Season 2 Episode 14. Viewers might remember Roberts as Milton Mamet in The Walking Dead. He also starred in two seasons of the Netflix series, Insatiable, as Bob Armstrong. Fans might also recognize Roberts from the CBS drama, The Good Wife, or the movie, Walk the Line.
In Big Sky Season 2, Richard Ford is a recovering alcoholic whose son, Mason, recently died of a drug overdose. Mason’s sister, Hayden Ford (Keara Lloyd), reveals to Jenny that Mason had a small bag of drugs on him. Jenny suspects that the drugs are from Ren (Janina Gavankar) and Jag’s (Vinny Chhibber) cartel. In Big Sky Season 2 Episode 15, the ABC press release indicates that Richard Ford causes drama in town by searching for answers about his dead son.
“A grieving father tears up the town over his son’s death,” the ABC synopsis reads.
‘Big Sky’ Season 2 cast adds Laurel Harris
Laurel Harris also joins the Big Sky Season 2 cast as Mona Ford — Richard Ford’s wife — for episode 14 and 15. According to IMDb, Harris does not have as extensive of a filmography as Roberts. However, viewers might remember her from the TV movie, Saige Paints the Sky (2013) or the ABC TV series, Devious Maids.
In Big Sky Season 2, Harris is a minor character, supporting Richard Ford. She also wants more answers about what happened to her son. However, she answers Jenny’s questions and works with the police, unlike her husband.
Constance Zimmer joins the cast as Alicia in ‘Big Sky’ Season 2
Before joining the Big Sky cast, Constance Zimmer portrayed Jeri Huntington on ABC’s A Million Little Things as a decoy for Barbara Morgan. Zimmer also appeared in five episodes of Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Alana Cahill (a physician adviser brought on to help prevent bankruptcy). She also recently portrayed Kathleen Gale in Freeform’s Good Trouble.
Zimmer rose to prominence as Dana Gordon in Entourage and Claire Simms in Boston Legal. She received a Critics’ Choice Television Award and a Primetime Emmy Award Nomination for her role as Quinn King in Unreal. Zimmer also appeared in Ellen, Seinfeld, The X-Files, King of Queens, and The Trouble With Normal.
In the second half of Big Sky Season 2 Alicia comes to Montana with Ren and Jag’s father, Veer Bhullar (Bernard White). Veer and Alicia recently fled from Canada because of an issue with a former partner. With Ren and Jag taking the lead, they move their cartel business to Big Sky country.
Big Sky Season 1 and most of season 2 is currently available for streaming on Hulu. New episodes air Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
