‘Big Sky’ Season 2 Episode 5: Deputy Harvey is dead

ABC’s Big Sky Season 2 Episode 5 picks up right where the episode 4 cliffhanger left off. Donno (Ryan O’Nan) continues shooting at Cassie and Jenny until Ren (Janina Gavankar) calls him to come to Deputy Harvey’s house. The Deputy’s cruiser and phone are at the place, but he’s not.

Madison (Lola Skye Reid) takes Deputy Harvey (Michael Malarkey) into the woods, where she hid the money and drugs. Harper (Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson) secretly follows the two. Meanwhile, Max (Madelyn Kientz) cuts Bridger (Jeremy Ray Taylor) out of the chair that the Deputy duct-taped him to. The pair run and hide in a closet before Ren enters the house.

The four teens wind up together facing off against Deputy Harvey. Somehow he doesn’t take a shot at any of them before Creary (Ryan De Quintal) tackles him to the ground. Ren and Donno find a dead Harvey, and they are happy they didn’t have to kill him. Creary shot Harvey and told the four teens to run. It’s still not evident whose side he is on or how he fits into the situation.

Sheriff Tubb (Patrick Gallagher) arrives at the scene with the backup that Jenny called. However, the case gets turned over to the state troopers.

After the shoot out

Back at Dewell and Hoyt Investigative office, Cassie, Jerrie, and Denise Brisbane (Dedee Pfeiffer) contemplate Tonya’s (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) story. Something didn’t add up. Denise finds out that Tonya has quit her job, and they attempt to track her down.

That’s when Jerrie’s father (Jeff Kober) shows up in Big Sky Season 2 Episode 5. The two get together for coffee. He tells Jerrie that her mother has breast cancer. Jerrie’s mother wants her to come home and see her before she dies. Later, Jerrie tells Mark Lindor (Omar Metwally) that her parents kicked Jerrie out of the house when she came out.

Jerrie recalls her thoughts when she was held captive in Big Sky Season 1. She wanted to see her parents if she made it out of Ronald’s grasp alive. Mark encourages Jerrie to go and get the closure she needs. Later, Denise, Cassie, and Jenny meet Jerrie at the bar to bid her farewell for a while. Before leaving, Jerrie passes on Wolf Legarski’s book to Mark.

Tonya returns to Ren and Donno and pleads with them for a job. She knows what kind of money her dead boyfriend, Sam (Eric Weiss), made, and she doesn’t want to be a waitress forever. In another scene, Jag (Vinny Chhibber) finally makes an appearance to tell his sister, Ren; she needs to make an example out of everyone.

Meanwhile, Bridger insists the teenagers need to get rid of the money and drugs. Harper insists that Creary tried to save the four teens. She wants to seek him out. Max confides in her mom, Rachel (T. V. Carpio), about what the teens saw. She begs her not to tell her boyfriend, T-Lock

Ronald and Wolfgang

Wolfgang Legarski (John Carroll Lynch) and his wife, Agatha (Romy Rosemont), slipped drugs into Ronald Pergman’s (Brian Geraghty) tea. Wolf asks Ronald to picture his mother. Then Ronald admits that his mother had urges too. She killed Ronald’s father. He wanted to leave, so she killed him. Wolf feels it’s a major breakthrough with Ronald in Big Sky Season 2 Episode 5.

Later, Wolf allows Ronald and Scarlet (Anja Savcic) some alone time. He calls Wolf deranged, but Scarlet insists Wolf will reunite her with her daughter. She hopes to be free.

Wolf calls LeeAnn about the subject of their next book. He gets distraught with her and begins yelling that he is not his brother. Then Wolf and Agatha discuss their plan to persuade Ronald to turn himself in and confess. Wolf admits he told Scarlet they could head to a cabin in Alaska to stop running from the authorities. He doesn’t want her to lose hope, but Wolf has no intention of letting Ronald get away.

Later, Jenny asks Travis (Logan-Marshall Green) if Harvey was working for the cartel. She insists they have an “arrangement,” but Travis throws it back in her face. He doesn’t want to be the guy she comes to for information anytime she wants. When Jenny tries to kiss him, Travis sends her out of the hotel room.

Jenny admits to Cassie that she likes Travis and feels like she messed things up with him.

When Jenny and Cassie spot Dietrich at the bar later, they choose to follow him outside. However, Smiley (Michael Tomsu) gets into a fight with Jenny when he catches them spying. Cassie grabs Smiley’s gun, and viewers think that the women have the upper hand for a moment. Then Travis shows up and informs Dietrich that the two women are cops.

Burning questions we still have after ‘Big Sky’ Season 2 Episode 5

What is going on between Jerrie Kennedy and Mark Lindor? Is Jerrie leaving Big Sky? Luckily, we know that Jerrie will return to the series later this season. She went from a series regular to a guest star, so she won’t be in every episode of Big Sky Season 2. Who is Creary? We found out that Creary is not trying to get the drugs or money. He seems more interested in protecting Harper for some reason. Will Jenny blow Travis’ cover?

According to IMDbBig Sky Season 2 airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
