Billie Eilish turned heads with her photo spread in British Vogue that hit the internet last week.

In the cover shoot, the singer was rocking a drastically different look, complete with newly blonde hair and a corset reminiscent of pin-up styles. As expected, the photos caused quite a frenzy, with many sharing their reactions on social media — which Eilish calls “amazing” but “scary.”

Earlier this month, Eilish debuted a striking new look on the latest cover of British Vogue that not only got people talking but also broke a new record.

In the photos, the singer is rocking stunning blonde hair and an “old-timey pin-up look” that’s much different than the green/black hair and baggy clothes she was known for sporting.

In the accompanying interview, Eilish shared that the pin-up style theme was entirely her idea, telling the magazine that she just wanted to try something new.

“I’ve literally never done anything in this realm at all,” she said. “Y’know, besides when I’m alone and sh*t.”

Since her body — especially her stomach — has been her “deepest insecurity,” Eilish decided to wear a corset as a way to show the world that body positivity is “all about what makes you feel good.”

“If you want to get surgery, go get surgery,” the “bad guy” hitmaker said. “If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, f*ck it — if you feel like you look good, you look good.”

The same day her Vogue cover dropped, Eilish took to her Instagram to unveil the stunning photos.

In one post, the singer expressed just how much she enjoyed doing the photoshoot in the caption, writing, “i love these pictures and i loved doing this shoot. do whatever you want whenever you want. f*ck everything else.”

As expected, the photos caused quite the frenzy online, with Eilish’s post of the cover reaching over one million likes in under six minutes, breaking a new Instagram record.

In addition to all of the likes the snapshots received, people also gushed about the cover shoot in the comments.

Not only did fans applaud the singer for showing off a different side of her, but they also swooned over her new look, which many can’t get enough of.

The response to the photos has been so immense that Eilish recently shared her feelings about the reaction while appearing on an episode of The Late Show with Stephan Colbert.

“I think it more just makes me never want to post again,” the seven-time Grammy winner said. “I feel like I wanted to post more when less people cared, and now that more people care, it’s scary to me.”

Though the instant attention surrounding her cover shoot was pretty intimidating, Eilish admits that it’s still “amazing.”

“It was so weird, the day that all those pictures came out,” she continued. “Because I’d post one and then I’d see, ‘Billie Eilish has broken the record for the fastest picture ever liked!’ And then I would post another one, and it would say, ‘Billie Eilish just broke the other record she just broke with the new fastest picture ever liked!’

“It’s been crazy,” she added. “It’s been a very weird, surreal week.”
