Billie Eilish Doesn’t Understand How Anyone Could Not Love Beyoncé

There are a few young artists who have managed to become pop culture icons within a very short period of time. Out of all the recently-minted musical stars, Billie Eilish reigns supreme.

She first burst onto the scene in 2016, and by early 2019, Eilish had achieved worldwide popularity. These days, Eilish is unable to tour in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, but she’s still active in the music industry, biding her time until live shows can resume. Recently, she opened up about how she deals with fame and the artists that she looks to for inspiration, like Beyoncé. In fact, she doesn’t know how anyone can’t love Beyoncé. 

How did Billie Eilish become famous?

Billie Eilish was born in California in 2001. She was homeschooled for much of her childhood and was attracted to music when she was very young. Along with her brother, Eilish became enamored with songwriting and began performing at local festivals and talent shows. As a teenager, Eilish was inspired by her brother, Finneas Eilish, to pursue music as a career. By late 2015, Eilish released her debut single, “Ocean Eyes” to SoundCloud. The song gained traction quickly and in early 2016, Eilish released the music video for the hit single.

By late 2017, Eilish had earned many fans and had started to get critical recognition. She released several remixes of “Ocean Eyes,” and in early 2018, she embarked on her Where’s My Mind Tour, which sold out venues around the United States. Her single “Bad Guy” broke records and has become one of her best-known tracks. These days, Eilish has made history as one of the youngest and most successful artists in the industry. She has won multiple awards including five Grammys and three MTV Music Awards. There is very little that Eilish cannot do, and it is clear that she will only continue to break records in the years to come.

Even with all of her fame, Billie Eilish is still a very young woman. It is natural that she would look up to industry veterans for inspiration and motivation. Recently, Eilish gave an intimate interview, where she discussed the trappings of fame, and talked about how other superstars fare in the limelight. Eilish stated “the thing I realized recently is this: when you get to a certain level of fame or notoriety, it doesn’t matter what you say or do, you are a certain level of known. You will be super hated. And super loved.”

Eilish then opened up about another music industry icon, Beyoncé Knowles. “There are a million people who don’t like Beyoncé — and I don’t know how the hell you can’t love Beyoncé.”

Billie Eilish’s admiration for Beyoncé Knowles is certainly not surprising. Knowles, like Eilish, rose to fame at a young age, performing with Destiny’s Child while still in her teens. Knowles was able to become a superstar on her own terms, in an industry that was eager to try to make her fit into an existing mold. She eventually went solo, performing sold-out shows all around the world — and going on to star in Hollywood movies, as well.

Even though Eilish and Knowles perform different types of music, it is clear that they have several things in common. Knowles is known for her love of collaborating with other artists, so fans shouldn’t rule out the possibility of an eventual collaboration between the iconic diva and the talented, eccentric young artist.
