Billie Eilish revealed how The Beatles inspired her songs

During an interview with MTV Push, Eilish said she was very interested in The Beatles’ songs from a young age. “All we did was listen to music when I was younger growing up. It’s all we did. I listen to a lot of The Beatles and Avril Lavigne. You know, I had all my phases.”

“I think if you listen to my music and what I create and what me and my brother create together, there’s so much Beatles inspiration in there,” she added. “If you really listen for it. Just cause their lyrics and their harmonies … just unbelievable. Just like so nice to your ears. They just feel good to listen to. Growing up, I was in a choir, so there was always a lot of harmonies around me. So I kind of got a good idea of what is going to sound right or whatever.”

Why she is more familiar with The Beatles than Elvis Presley

During an interview with Noisey, Eilish was asked whether she preferred Elvis or The Beatles. “Dude!” she replied. “The Beatles. The Beatles. Well, The Beatles, The Beatles, The Beatles.”

Subsequently, Eilish revealed she hadn’t been exposed to Elvis’ songs much. “Actually, I never really heard Elvis,” she said. “I was just not … I was born too late for that, my friend. His hips be movin’, though.” Notably, Eilish was born in 2001 and some members of her generation were introduced to Elvis’ songs through the 2002 Disney film Lilo & Stitch.
