Blake Lively Admitted Disneyland Banned Her for a Year for Trying to Cheat the System
It comes as no surprise that a celebrity like Blake Lively enjoyed going to Disneyland as a kid. However, just how far she went to proclaim her love as a kid is a story unto itself. Lively wanted to milk the park for everything that it was worth as a child. However, it eventually landed her in the scariest attraction at the park – Disney prison.
Who is Blake Lively?
According to IMDb, Lively worked throughout her childhood, but her breakout role was The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Lively is best known for her role on Gossip Girl. Playing teen ‘it’ girl Serena van der Woodsen, Lively became an A-lister practically overnight. For six years she graced television sets as people tried to unlock who the titular gossip hound was. By the series’ end, however, Lively was on to the big screen in big ways. Lively garnered roles in films such as The Town, Savages, and The Age of Adeline, which further showed her range beyond the realm of teen dramas. However, as her film career began to take off, Lively slowed down to raise a family in the background.
Are Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds still married?
Lively might not be the most famous member of her household. After all, she’s married to box office superstar Ryan Reynolds. As Grazia notes, the pair met on the set of Green Lantern in 2010 around the same time that Reynolds’ marriage to Scarlett Johansson began to implode. Before long, they were a happy couple who became a staple on TMZ and similar websites. The pair have been married since 2012. The couple has three daughters together named James, Inez, and Betty. Lively takes less work than she did before her kids, opting to remains a stay-at-home mother while her husband remains one of Hollywood’s most hard-working actors. With kids of her own, Lively can make time to go back to the place of one of her most infamous crimes.
The Happiest Prison on Earth
As a mother, Lively enjoys taking her family to Disneyland. She spoke about this continued tradition in an interview with David Letterman, although one particular anecdote may surprise some people who only picture the positive side of Disneyland. She spoke about her early memories in an interview collected by The OC Register. “I grew up going to Disneyland like twice a week … my mom would take me out of school and take me to Disneyland,” she told David Letterman in the interview. “But I was banned from Disneyland for a year because I went to Disney prison.”
Lively went on to explain how she and her brothers would try to get inside the theme park. “You get a stamp when you leave the park. If you spray hairspray on it, you can transfer them to someone else’s hand,” she said of the ordeal, which seems less like a cartoon and more like a crime movie. “So we go downstairs in Disneyland – it’s all-white rooms, everyone is dressed in all white, the furniture is all white, and they just interrogated us … it was really scary and traumatizing.”
Letterman noted the irony of Disney making a place that every kid wants to experience while punishing them so severely when they try to think of creative ways to get into a place they cannot afford. For Lively’s kids, however, they probably don’t have to worry about it anymore. With millions in the bank and the perks of stardom, they can either afford to go to the park or are famous enough to get in for free. However, now that Lively is a mother, she can look back on those young days trying to get into the happiest place on earth and use that happiness to rub off on her own children.
