Blake Lively Goes Viral for Horrible Treatment of Interviewer in 2016
Blake Lively is taking heat for her press appearances while promoting the 2024 film It Ends With Us. From rumored on-set rivalries to flippant responses while speaking to interviewers, fans are starting to turn on Lively. Now, we’re looking back at a 2016 interview that Lively had while promoting Café Society. Here’s what happened during the interview that had the interviewer wanting to quit her job.
A 2016 interview with Blake Lively went viral for the actor’s poor treatment of the interviewer
Blake Lively had a cringe-worthy interview in 2016 while promoting the Woody Allen film, Café Society, with her co-star Parker Posey. The interviewer, Kjersti Flaa, uploaded the clip on Aug. 10, 2024. She titled the YouTube clip, “The Blake Lively interview that made me want to quit my job.”
The interview begins with Flaa congratulating Lively on her “little bump,” as Lively was several months pregnant at the time.
“Congrats on your little bump!” Lively responds, though Flaa is not pregnant. Posey then tries to lighten the mood by discussing her chest and backside as her “bumps.”
Flaa moves on to ask about the clothing that the cast wore in Café Society.
“Everyone wants to talk about the clothes, but I wonder if they would ask the men about the clothes,” Lively says while looking at Posey and not addressing Flaa. Flaa notes that she would have asked the men as Lively continues to talk to Posey about her favorite costumes from the film while ignoring Flaa.
Posey and Lively talk to each other for a while before Flaa can ask another question. By the end of the interview, Flaa clearly feels left out of the conversation as the interviewer.
Fans on YouTube defended Flaa.
“Asking about wardrobe for a period piece movie is a normal question!” a fan commented. “I’m so sorry they treated you this way.”
The actor was also rude during an interview regarding ‘It Ends With Us’
Blake Lively is getting a lot of heat for how she’s promoting her 2024 film, It Ends With Us. The movie takes on themes of domestic violence, as Lively’s character, Lily Bloom, meets a charming neurosurgeon, Ryle Kincaid, who ultimately abuses her. During an interview regarding the themes of the film, the interviewer asked Lively
“For people who see this movie, who relate to the topics of this movie on a deeply personal level, they’re really going to want to talk to you,” the interviewer said, according to a TikTok posted to Reddit. “This movie is going to affect people, and they’re going to want to tell you about their lives. So, if someone who understands the themes of this movie comes across you in public, and they want to really talk to you, what’s the best way for them to be able to talk to you about this? How would you recommend they go about this?”
Lively had a sarcastic answer to the question.
“Like, asking for my address? Or my phone number? Or location share? I could just location share you,” she responded. “I’m a Virgo, so I’m like, are we talking logistics? Are we talking emotionally?”
Justin Baldoni recently talked about experiencing ‘friction’ with Blake Lively while filming ‘It Ends With Us’
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni might’ve had some issues while filming It Ends With Us. Baldoni told Elle Canada that he experienced “friction” while creating the “beautiful art” that is the film.
“There are all these things that happen every day on set; there’s always friction that happens when you make a movie like this,” Baldoni said. “Then, at the end of the day, it’s that friction, I believe, that creates the beautiful art. Everything in life needs friction to grow. And look, we created something so beautiful and so magical, and it was hard, and it was worth it at the same time. And I grew so much as both a filmmaker, an actor, and as a person throughout this experience.”
