Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani Already Have Plans for Their Dream Wedding, Source Claims
Since they first publically stepped out as a couple in early 2016, fans have been desperately awaiting news of wedding bells from Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. The pair met back in 2014 as judges on the long-running competition series, The Voice.
At the time, the pair were married to other people. However, by the following year, they were going through high-profile divorces, which helped them form a friendship that eventually turned romantic.
Now, fans are elated that Shelton has finally proposed. While the couple is newly engaged, it appears that they already have major plans in the works for their dream wedding. It looks like they may walk down the aisle sooner than you think.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s engagement was romantic
Though the public has been trying to rush The Voice couple down the aisle for some time, it looks like they decided to take the next step in their relationship when they were ready. “This engagement was a long time coming, but for them, it is the right time,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “They are very much in love, and Blake and Gwen, who have been married before, are determined to make this their last marriage, they know they are each other’s soulmates.”
Shelton chose the most romantic setting to pop the question to Stefani. He’d previously built the No Doubt frontwoman, a chapel on their private ranch in Oklahoma. The rocker is a devout Catholic, and her faith means a great deal to her.
“He felt that [the chapel] was the perfect place to propose because it has so much meaning to the both of them,” the insider explained. “Gwen loves the chapel so much, and she even has a necklace with a charm of the chapel that she wears often.”
Gwen Stefani’s engagement ring cost $500K
In addition to the setting, Shelton also carefully selected Stefani’s engagement ring. Though the country singer has not yet revealed the designer, it cost him a pretty penny. According to Kathryn Money, the VP of Strategy and Merchandising at the Brilliant Earth jewelry brand, the ring “features a classic, six-prong setting with a 6-carat solitaire diamond set in a white gold or platinum band.”
Money told Us Weekly that she estimates the ring cost $500,000. However, she added that she would need to examine “the quality of the stone” to nail down the exact price point.
Inside Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s dream wedding plans
Since they’ve been together for some time, it looks like the pair already have their dream wedding plans nailed down. “The goal for Blake and Gwen would be to get married after COVID, so they have a chance to celebrate with everyone they want there,” a source told Hollywood Life. “Planning is already taking place, and the dream would be later next year [2021] when hopefully everyone is out of this COVID mess, or it is at least more contained.”
Both musicians are from large families, and Stefani shares her three sons, Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 6 with her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale.
