Blake Shelton Had to Make 1 Drastic Change to His House Just to Protect Gwen Stefani’s Hair
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been together for over five years at this point, and the couple is even engaged. They seem to understand that relationships often require compromises and balancing each person’s needs. In Shelton’s case, he had to make a drastic change to one of his homes to accommodate Stefani’s hair.

Stefani is known for her luscious platinum blond locks, but she is actually a natural brunette. According to Allure, Stefani’s dark hair has been seen in many of her throwback photos. When she filmed the music video for her song “Cool,” she also sported a brunette style to represent her past self.
Stefani’s long-time stylist, Danilo Dixon, is someone who has been helping her take care of her platinum color. Dixon revealed to Refinery29 in 2017 that he does not solely use bleach, as some people may think.
“We colour her hair every Monday, before we film The Voice,” Dixon said. “Gwen’s an Italian girl with wavy brown hair — if you look at the video for Cool, we did her in her natural shade, maybe a little darker — so I developed a high lift formula for her. I learned that I could get to a place of achieving the blond that I want, and the quality of hair that we need and want, by using a new product, as opposed to just bleach.”
Additionally, Dixon shared that his secret for Stefani is using leave-in conditioner. He said, “So many people are blow drying and using hot tools, which is where most of the damage happens — so I’m always telling people to learn how to work with leave-in conditioning at every stage of styling.”

When Stefani is not meeting with her hair stylist, there are steps she takes to take care of her hair. However, Stefani’s methods can be quite specific that she can’t always do them anywhere. In one instance, Shelton had to fix up his Oklahoma ranch because the water there was not good for her hair.
“Blake, my boyfriend, has a ranch in Oklahoma, and the water there is like, out of a well,” she told Vogue UK in 2017. “I said: ‘Ok I guess we’re going to have to break up if you don’t put soft water into the system because I’m not going to have any hair anymore…’ I mean, it’s gonna break! So we just got the soft water, and I was like, hallelujah!”

It seems that Stefani is now quite okay with the ranch lifestyle. She, Shelton, and her sons have been spending a lot of time at his Oklahoma ranch during the pandemic.
Stefani’s sons love being in the Oklahoma countryside as well. A source allegedly told Us Weekly, “Blake loves getting dirty with the boys. They’re always playing basketball or running around. They love it there because it’s just the five of them out on the land, hunting or hiking.”
