Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert ‘Can’t Stand the Sight of Each Other’ at Events, Source Says
Country music stars Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have a memorable marriage. The couple tied the knot in 2011 and divorced four years later in 2015. During their relationship, Shelton called Lambert “complicated,” and they didn’t seem to leave their divorce on a good note. Now, Shelton and Lambert allegedly “can’t stand” to see each other when they’re at events.
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert allegedly ‘can’t stand the sight of each other’ when they attend events
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are two monumental names in country music. This means the exes run into each other at events. Shelton and Lambert also have a massive presence in Nashville, making run-ins inevitable. A source told Life & Style that the exes are “competitive” and don’t want to see each other in public.
“Miranda doesn’t want to attend any event where Blake is the star attraction, and vice versa,” the source alleged. “Their egos can’t handle it, and the brutal reality is that they can’t stand the sight of each other. They’re totally competitive, and there’s no love lost, and they don’t want any awkward confrontations. Some might say they don’t want the other to steal their spotlight.”
The source added that Lambert and Shelton’s wife, ’90s rocker Gwen Stefani, don’t want anything to do with each other, either. According to the insider, Lambert and Shelton “get their people” to find out if the other plans to attend an event before going.
“Their friends roll their eyes and think Miranda and Blake should get over it and act like grown-ups, but they’re stubbornly holding onto grudges,” the source continued. “They might forgive, but they’ll never forget.”
Miranda Lambert reportedly tried to avoid Blake Shelton at the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards
Miranda Lambert allegedly tried to avoid Blake Shelton at the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards. A source told DailyMail.com that Lambert is happy for Shelton and his successful marriage to Gwen Stefani. But she didn’t want “eyes” on her and Shelton at the event.
“They really did not want to have to meet up during some massive event with all those eyes on them, so they kept their distance,” the source said. “There is no bad blood, really. Miranda just didn’t want to make a big scene, so she avoided Blake. But she is definitely on civil terms with Blake and is happy for him.”
Shelton and Stefani connected over their divorces before dating. While Shelton was going through his separation from Lambert, Stefani was enduring her divorce from Gavin Rossdale. A source told E! News in 2015 that Lambert had “nothing against” Stefani and wasn’t surprised to hear of the romance.
“Blake is just a flirty kind of charmer,” the insider said. “She has nothing against Gwen and thinks she is a very talented artist. Whomever Blake is with, she wishes them the best.”
The country king said he hit ‘rock bottom’ after his divorce
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert’s divorce affected both of them. Shelton told Billboard in 2016 that he hit “rock bottom” after the public split, which changed his music.
“When we recorded the vocals for some of these songs, I was only six months removed from when all the crap went down,” Shelton told the publication. “When you have a broken heart — at least, when I do — you got to get it out of your system. You want people to sympathize with you. I was at rock bottom, in the middle of hell.”
Shelton added that Stefani helped him through his difficult divorce, as she was going through the same.
“Gwen saved my life,” he said. “Who else on earth could understand going through a high-profile divorce from another musician? You can’t even imagine the similarities in our divorces.”
