‘Bling Empire’: Andrew Gray Accuses Producers of Manipulation, Says Co-Stars Were ‘Being Fed’
One of the most-talked-about aspects of Netflix‘s Bling Empire is the relationship between Kelly Mi and Andrew Gray. Recently, Gray came outs swinging against his portrayal in the show and how he was edited.
Andrew Gray says that ‘Bling Empire’ season 1 is not a proper representation of him or their relationship
Many people on social media have had a lot to say about Mi and Gray’s relationship and believe their relationship is toxic. A lot of people criticized the way that Gray spoke to and treated Mi. Gray says that what is shown in the show is not how the relationship is in reality. In an interview with E! Online, Gray called the show’s filming “a set-up,” “a trigger” and “a manipulation.”
“To set the record straight, what was captured in the show doesn’t reflect our relationship at all,” the he said. “I don’t believe the audience—and this is my opinion, Kelly’s gonna say her piece—really saw anything other than the absolute worst part of a time, a short time, that was put on camera.”
He also talked about the negative reaction he has received from fans online and how he and Mi have had to not look at all of the comments. “It’s surreal because you have hope that people will fact check, respond, reply but, time and time again, we see reactions, we see common hate, we see common anger through people who’ve also been affected in some way shape or form from a person, place or thing,” he said.
Andrew Gray also talks about the show’s cast and said they didn’t know much about their relationship
While Mi has spoken about being grateful for her cast members and their support when it comes to looking out for her in the relationship, Gray does not seem to be a fan. He even accuses production of feeding them material, saying that he knows Kane Lim and only knows Anna Shay a little bit.
Shay notably wanted the two to break it off after seeing their dynamic during a trip to Paris. Gray says the Paris trip was the first time he really got to know Shay.
He explained, “First of all, I’m a transparent guy, ok? I don’t know these people. I don’t know their favorite color, I don’t know their middle names, I don’t know their nicknames. I know Kane, and I know Anna a little bit. But we just met Anna—Paris was the first time we did anything with her…They never knew our relationship. They’re just being fed. They’re like, ‘Say this, we’re going in an interview.’ And they’re like, ‘Oh ok!’ So, I don’t know how they really feel about it.”
Still, Gray seems to not blame them entirely and instead says producers are the ones pulling the strings and making them talk about his relationship drama.
“They’re probably tired of talking about it because producers are in their ear every day,” he continued. “‘Can you just say this?’ And they’re like, ‘Ok, yeah. How do you want me to say it?'”
Bling Empire‘s entire first season is streaming on Netflix. An official season 2 renewal announcement has not come down yet.
