‘Blue Bloods’: Danny and Baez’s Upcoming Case Will Have Them Working With Guest Star, Lyle Lovett’s Character
There will be another guest star on Blue Bloods and that’s singer, Lyle Lovett. His character will be working with Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez.) Find out what his character will be doing and more.
Danny and Baez’s relationship has been growing this season
Season 10 might be the season Danny tries to date someone. Wahlberg talked about how his relationships are changing with time.
“They’ve definitely been flirting around with Danny,” Wahlberg explained to Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “I think his connection with Baez has been growing. I think the medium Maggie played by Callie Thorne has been building an interesting relationship with Danny.”
The actor avoided revealing anything about the future of the character. “So I don’t know what the future holds,” he said. “I don’t look beyond the script that I’m doing right now. I never ask what’s going to happen next with Danny. I just like to show up and be surprised because I don’t want to anticipate anything. I’d just like to discover as I go.”
It would certainly be a big step if the partners become romantic. However, some fans are rooting for it to happen. Wahlberg went on to say Danny’s sons might get involved in his love life.
“So I think Danny’s preference is one thing, but I think his two boys are going to have a vote,” he added. “I think they would have to have a say so, too. So if they had a vote, I’m not sure who they would cast it for, but it could be something entirely different for all we know.”
Lyle Lovett is working on a case with Danny and Baez
It looks like the partners will be getting some extra help. TV Insider reports Lovett’s character is Texas Ranger Waylon Gates and will appear in the Feb. 14 episode called “Fog of War.”
There are pictures showing Waylon and Danny intensely looking at each other. It’s possible they will butt heads. However, there are also pictures of Waylon in the precinct with Baez and Danny. The case will probably get dangerous since there are pictures of Danny and Waylon with their guns drawn.
Other characters will also be busy in the episode. Eddie (Vanessa Ray)’s partner, Officer James Addison (Justin Cunningham) accidentally shoots an undercover cop. Jamie (Will Estes) is in the hot seat with internal affairs. Frank (Tom Selleck) tries to stop an officer from quitting the job.
Wahlberg previously posted a picture of him with Lovett. He gave another teaser to the upcoming appearance.
Wahlberg joked about a possible ‘Blue Bloods’ spinoff
The actor posted a picture with Lovett and Ramirez on Instagram. He captioned it with, “Oh, you know, no big deal, just hanging out with this guy — Mr @lyle_lovett! He graced the set of #BlueBloods today, and delivered one of the best performances (and coolest roles) in the entire ten seasons of our show! Can’t wait til you all get to see this episode!”
He posted another picture of their characters standing next to each other. He captioned it with, “I’m seeing a spin-off! Anybody have any ideas for a title? I got #BlueBloodsTexas so far! @lyle_lovett sir — you rock!”
It looks like the actors enjoyed having Lovett on set. Fans will have to watch the Feb. 14 episode to see how it all plays out.
